Skyrad 0 #1 December 14, 2011 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-16161065 So what do you think about these building design, a pixelated cloud or the WTC on 9/11? Offensive or just novel architecture? When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. MikeJD 0 #3 December 14, 2011 Whether deliberate or not, you'd have to be incredibly insensitive not to notice how that design echoes the attacks. It's very similar to some of the most recognisable images of the century, worldwide. Is that enough reason not to build it? I don't think so. But I'd feel pretty uncomfortable in one of those outlying blocks. Especially in the event of an earthquake!

Marinus 0 #5 December 14, 2011 Yes, I can see 911 in it if I use my fantasy and look hard. If I try a little less I see a nice example of innovative architecture.
wmw999 2,543 #6 December 14, 2011 I could see where an American would think it looks like 9/11. Something to consider is that 9/11 really isn't that important to any other country. Does look innovative. I wouldn't have thought "9/11" if someone hadn't said it first. Wendy P.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. lawrocket 3 #8 December 14, 2011 I can see the similarities to it. But I also think that it's a stretch. Sure, it’s got a twin towers look. But it’s also a functional appearance. There are good reasons for the design looking as it should. My wife is hotter than your wife.
Kennedy 0 #9 December 14, 2011 It's ugly, but I don't care. Yeah, I suppose that one picture has a twin towers look to it, but I'm sure if one were there in person it would not brign up any 9/11 memories or images.witty subliminal message Guard your honor, let your reputation fall where it will, and outlast the bastards. 1*
lurch 0 #10 December 14, 2011 Wheres the vote for "Looks like 9/11 and I like it"? Soon as I saw the image in the video I said "Holy Shit" and busted up laughing... It looks like a middle schoolers' rendition of 9/11 done in LEGOs. There is no WAY the designers did not catch its resemblance to some of the most famous images in human history. Its got to be one of the most awesome examples of tackiness and bad taste I've ever SEEN! It will inevitably be known as the "911 building" and it is going to cause an amazing amount of outrage. I hope they build it. When Life Imitates Art... you watch. They build it, somebody'll blow it up.Live and learn... or die, and teach by example. Let's say this century so far. Admittedly, the century is young - there's plenty of time for more shocking images yet. Actually gives me chills to wonder what they might be. Wendy, I can't speak for Koreans but I think you underestimate the significance of 9/11 for non-Americans. Certainly we in Europe were shocked to the core, and you only have to see the photos and video footage a few times to have them indelibly imprinted on your brain. Given the nature of media now, I'm sure people of all nations saw them many, many times in the following days - and even for those who didn't feel personally threatened, or particularly empathic, they must have left a strong impression. In the years since the attacks I've seen a number of very affecting photos echoing those images, even vaguely. For many of us, any picture that puts an airliner and tower-like structures in the same frame still resonates - like this (admittedly deliberate) book cover from 2002. That's London's Battersea Power Station in the foreground, by the way. The pictures of the resulting explosion are equally well-known. I'm pretty sure, at least from the angle shown of that building design, that I'd have made a connection even without the context of the post.
