Did the neighborhood vigilante hassle white kids in oxford shirts walking through the community carrying groceries?
Do YOU KNOW that he didnt?
I know that a black kid carrying groceries was shot dead by a vigilante who claims self defense.
Just about everything else is "he said she said".

How many did he shoot dead?
One possible answer to that is that he shot all of them that jumped him and knocked him to the ground and began slamming his head on the sidewalk ...and then only after yelling for help with no response. Could be other answers, though.

Where did I claim to know? Where did I speculate? I asked A QUESTION. That's what "?" means at the end of a sentence. PUNCTUATION MATTERS. You should try it sometime.

Sorta like your claim that Zimmerman was a vigilante while COMPLETELY ignoring the fact that Martin was beating his head into the ground, you mean? Sorta like your continuous mention of groceries as if it had one single thing to do with the case?

He is a self confessed vigilante. The politically correct term these days is "Neighborhood Watch Captain".

Really? So, just what crime had Martin committed that Zimmerman felt the gov't had insufficiently punished him for, that Zimmerman took the law into his own hands?
Besides your fantasy crime of walking with groceries, that is.

Wrong thread again, Sparky. You might even have to start that thread yourself.
If you wish to discuss facts about this case, I am in.

...Has the media paid too much attention to race in the Trayvon Martin killing? Recent polls show that a majority of Republicans and 43 percent of whites are fed up with coverage of the case, saying "enough is enough." But testimony from a George Zimmerman supporter on Tuesday suggests that racial perceptions surrounding the case are indeed worthy of attention.
In an awkward TV interview with CNN, Frank Taaffe—himself a former neighborhood watch captain in the same Sanford subdivision—poured fuel on the racial fires by insisting that "young black males" were up to no good in his "neighborHOOD," where eight burglaries had occurred recently.
"All of the perpetrators of the burglaries, the prior burglaries, were young black males," Taaffe said. Pressed by Soledad O'Brien on how that related to Trayvon Martin's shooting, he replied, "Well, you know, there's an old saying: If you plant corn, you get corn."...

QuoteA vigilante is a private individual (or (pl.) group of individuals) who presumes to carry out extralegal punishment in defiance of existing law.
Sorry, your attempt to relabel him fails, unless yet again you're assuming facts not yet established.
.
Shooting an unarmed person dead is generally extralegal, in defiance of existing law. He may well get away with it, though.

Shooting someone who is already attacking you with deadly force is not - something you keep conveniently forgetting.

now you're presuming facts and ignoring basic tenets of US law (presumption of innocence).
"Generally" is a pretty good weasel word. But your statement is still false.
So when are you going to get back to sticking to verifiable facts?

QuoteIf anyone in this case is to be the victim of vigilante justice it will be Zimmerman. He has effectively already been condemned by members of two of the three co-equal branches of the Federal Government and will likely be tried and convicted (but not of murder or manslaughter) by the third. (just a prediction)
he may be tried (unlikely), but unless there's a lot more evidence being kept under wraps, not a chance of conviction in a court of law, versus a court of public opinion.

So now the T.M. will have to say the cops were in on it because it sure seems that the report backs up Zimmerman. (head wounds, bloody nose)
The T.M. side can also point out (truthfully) that these reports are being leaked.
According to at least one source (Tampa Bay Times), transcripts of Zimmerman's calls to 911 over the past 2 years fill 28 pages. I've only seen a half-dozen or so excerpts from various calls that mention descriptions of the subjects as "black". Might be interesting to review all of those calls and see what the score really is. In the Trayvon case Zimmerman did not volunteer a description and only after the 911 operator asked did he mention "black" (and even then he wasn't sure... "he looks black"). Without doing a search to be sure, I seem to remember one earlier news report that there were as many as 40+ calls to 911 by Zimmerman.
