...The Miami-Dade Fire and Rescue Department opened an investigation into a racist post on one of its captains’ Facebook page. According to The Grio, Brian Beckmann, a captain in the Miami-Dade fire department, posted a rant on his Facebook page suggesting that Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman was unjustly accused and that Martin’s killing can be blamed upon poor parenting by “urban” parents who are “welfare dependent”...

Are you equating the word "urban" with black? Welfare dependent" equals black?

That's what this guy is saying. Of course most won't come out with such obvious racism - they'll hide it a little better.

EVERYONE stop making up scenarios based on news reports, hearsay, and "eyewitness" reports from friends and family. Let the judicial system do its job.

Well, if we did that, SC would be a ghost town.[:/]

That's the goal bro...then we will be happy.

Death to SC!

Nice, and typical dodge. I asked YOU the question...not your interpretations of what others say.

I'll rephrase it to simplify:
Do YOU equate "urban" and "Welfare dependent" as being a reference strictly to the black population?
My reality and yours are quite different.
I think we're all Bozos on this bus.

...A very disturbing story from the Daily News this week: several NYPD detectives allege that three high-ranking members of an elite unit within the department used racial slurs against Black people and called them "animals," while white suspects got easier treatment...

>but what if Zimmerman was the victim and he was defending his own life?

Then justice will be served by finding him not guilty. His indictment will let a jury decide if that is the case.

>Fuck Zimmerman, correct?

If you like.

But the special prosecutor has already decided that Martin needs justice

Not Zimmerman

Maybe you can throw inocent until proven guilty under the bus for your political views

But I will not

Justices /= conviction. If Zimmerman is tried by a jury of his peers and found not guilty, Martin (actually both of them) will still have gotten justice. Only if the incident were swept under the rug would justice be withheld.

...Duke University released a study on Tuesday that examined the impact of race in jury polls in Florida, and there's good news and bad news. The bad news is that, according to the study, which looked at 700 cases between 2000 and 2010, all-white juries are significantly more likely to convict black defendants than white defendants. The good news is that a single black juror can alter that dynamic...

Last week, Florida prosecutor Angela Corey stunned many within the legal establishment when she announced her office was filing a second-degree murder charge against George Zimmerman. The four-page affidavit of probable cause filed by Corey’s office shocked legal experts, ranging from liberal Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz and liberal law blogger Jeralyn Merritt to conservative former prosecutor Andrew McCarthy and talk show host Mark Levin, among others.

The affidavit starts out typically, listing the names and qualifications of the two investigators used by the special prosecutor. It then begins to build a case against George Zimmerman:

On Sunday 2/26/12, Trayvon Martin was temporarily living at the Retreat at Twin Lakes, a gated community in Sanford, Seminole County, Florida. That evening Martin walked to a nearby 7-11 Store where he purchased a can of iced tea and some Skittles. Martin then walked back to and entered the gated community and was on his way back to the townhouse where he was living when he was profiled by George Zimmerman. Martin was unarmed and was not committing a crime.

AdvertisementNot one paragraph into the “meat” of the affidavit, Corey’s team already made two unsubstantiated claims.

I spent twenty years working Colorado law enforcement, followed by nearly two years as an investigator for the Colorado State Public Defender's Office. Ten of my twenty-two years in the criminal justice arena were in the area of criminal investigations, complex and simple.

I just read the arrest affidavit in the Florida v. George Zimmerman case. I'm pretty certain that I would have been laughed out of any judge's chambers in Colorado, had I brought in a piece of evidentiary matter so poorly written. The Zimmerman affidavit is so deficient in properly sourced factual information and full of unsubstantiated, unsourced conclusions, I am appalled that a State's Attorney would even give it a second look. I don't know what's going on in the Florida Courts. But, where I worked as a cop, all summaries of statements from eye and ear witnesses, whether inculpatory or exculpatory, had to be both sourced and included in a properly assembled arrest affidavit.

Here is the affidavit for all to consider

Oh yeah, the link you post is brilliant!!!!!

From there:

Quote

The second unsubstantiated claim: They say Martin was not committing or preparing to commit a crime. Zimmerman became suspicious because he saw a figure who struck him as a person casing houses for burglary potential. Unbeknownst to Zimmerman at the time was the fact that Martin had been suspended from school for the possession of a “burglary tool.” We don’t know what Martin was thinking, but his actions were erratic enough to prompt George Zimmerman to want police to investigate.

Brilliant, unbiased reasoning!!!

I have yet to find one lawyer who thought this would survive as it did up to now

As for Corey?

I think she did the "job" she was expected to do

Rush is right on this.
Listen to the 911 caller who was interviewed by a local TV reporter the next morning:

Audio is here where the dispatcher says "Are you following him? We don't need you to do that."

I'm thinking this:
Maybe Corey isn't so stupid after all.

Obviously there is pressure from the political arena to come up with something to bring Z into court and the evidence doesn't support a successful prosecution.

So, she bows to the politicos and writes up a mess that she knows will be blasted and unsuccessful.

Problem solved:
We tried but it didn't fly. Sorry, Al Sharpton.

Well, it could be, right?
