To clarify, I am a Christian who was employed as a counselor. Prior to that I had a private Christian counseling practice. Two different job descriptions and functions.

We believe in God because we can't deny it...it's who we are.

To me it seems that atheists spend half their life trying to find negative reasons to negate the God they feel within, then spend the other half easing the pain/guilt/fear of that rejection...it's quite obvious to see actually, especially when you look at it as being another form of bigotry, which is what it is...exactly. How would you know what can or cannot be done through faith?

Personally, I don't think I would've seen a reason to change without scripture. Just about everything it teaches about spirituality is in conflict with what I find natural in my carnality. To the natural man scripture is foolishness...one day it just wasn't foolish to me anymore. I saw it from a perspective I've never had before and from then on I've desired spiritual life and haven't turned back since, no way.
