To be fair, his car's elevator isn't going to pay for itself.

If you allow some very rich people to donate 10s of millions of dollars to super pacts, then this is the result.

Individual contributions were limited. It's only with Citizen United and the advent of the Super Pact that individual billionaires can donate 10s of millions.

From your link:
In early 2010, the United States Supreme Court ruled in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission that corporate funding of independent political broadcasts in candidate elections cannot be limited pursuant to the right of these entities to free speech.
You appear to be confusing individuals with corporations or unions.

I'll revise. For the brief period when the unconstitutional McCainFeingold travesty was in effect, there were some limitations on soft money. But the reality is that money can get around nearly all barriers. All MF did was limit membership based organizations from having the same pull as the well heeled. I'm amazed you continue to support that violation of speech.

QuoteIn all seriousness, there is no such thing as a president that doesn't spend the first term trying to win a second term. And the second term campaigning for a Presidential library and honoraria.
But if you think about it, the best fundraiser will by nature be ideally suited for the modern presidency. A person who has no problem at all asking for other people's money to be spent on himself/herself and giving some promise of a return on investment
I guess it says so much more that he has had to spend so much time campaign.ING, as opposed to letting his record speak for its self.

Would you be happy if he had just one - with someone like Soros and getting $200M? Or just 10 for $20M each?
Or, for another example (of many), Romney getting $36 million, and being pledged up to $100 million, by Sheldon Adelson?
They're all whores. Arguing over who is the bigger whore is a fool's enterprise.
