beeman 0 #26 August 10, 2012 Quote THAT, I am disappointed in, and the wars. But he got handed a pile of shit with two wars and Gitmo. I expect it is not easy. I expect Congress still had a hand in it. Romney:" I'm gonna repeal this and repeal that on my first day".....he's gonna be pretty busy that first day don't you think? Wonder when he will have time to take a shit.... If you do not think Congress has no effect on all of these things, then wait until day 2 of Romney's Office (if he gets elected, at this point it is a toss-up) and see if 'his slogans' were kept or not. My point is, if you are basing your presidency on slogans - then you need to have your head examined. You're definitely right about Congress. It's why I'm not looking forward to this election no matter what the result is. Romeny will probably just alienate everyone and Congress will probably just not work with him. And I would love to have more than slogans and hate to base my opinion off of, but that's a pipe dream at this point. I hear this No Confidence guy has a good platform...well...I was going skydiving anyway. let's go. Earn your pancakes.
davjohns 1 #27 August 10, 2012 I do agree that believing politcal promises is silly. I also agree that holding them against the liar is a good idea. Might eventually have some small effect...maybe. I read GHWB's lips. And he enacted the biggest tax increases ever. I listened as Slick Willy beat GHWB for that promise. Then enacted even larger tax increases. I actually don't recall what W promised. Doubt it was delivered. 9/11 changed so much. I appreciated his strength of character, though. The latest attempt hasn't kept many promises. He should be held accountable for that. The next guy probably will not do much better. The nation just isn't ready for the belt tightening and frugal living it would require to start to turn the momentum. Changing one position isn't going to do that much.I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet.. But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

Though I suppose he did issue what I'm sure was an extra strongly worded statement to Mubarak and Ghadaffi. And as for any money Obama has ever "given" anyone. I'm sick and tired of hearing all the great causes he's "given" to. When he finds a way to pay for this shit, then and only then will I consider being impressed. Right now, all he's doing is paying us on our own dime, which thanks to him we have less and less chance of ever having to begin with. just my $0.02 You highlight a great point. There will be many people who live in denial about what Obama has accomplished as POTUS simply because they don't like Obama. Of course that doesn't mean he hasn't accomplished anything. Let's see, bin Laden was killed on his watch by his order, he brought RomneyCare to the other 49 states, he ended the war in Iraq, … Saddam Hussein killed far more people than OBL ever did. I don't recall hearing you singing praises to Bush for getting him. Nope, I didn't. We shouldn't have invaded Iraq in 2003. At 8:20am on Friday, April 29th in the Diplomatic Room, President Obama met with National Security Adviser Tom Donilon, White House chief of staff William Daley, White House counterterrorism adviser John Brennan and deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough and gave the order for the operation. We need a new voting system, such as instant runoff voting or ranked voting. Our current system encourages a two party system and elections in which we vote against the candidates we least want to see hold office (as opposed to voting for candidates who we would like to see hold office).Math tutoring available.
