Since I live in the Tampa Bay Area, I have decided not to go anywhere near the RNC this month. Everyone is expecting trouble. We just pray that it is not too explosive.

Probably a smart move, my dad lives down there, i suggested the same to him. Im just glad the mayor n governor refused to ban concealed carry at the event. Hopefully that is enough of a warning to prevent any violence.

Agreed. However, I would be more concerned about left-wingers in the U.S. rioting. They have a long history of commiting violent acts against those who disagree with them politically. In fact, they have a history of violence against "the man". The Occupy xxx movement and World bank protests just being recent examples.

We go to war in the Middle East to maintain our standing with Saudi Arabia, and other oil exporting countries, and to ensure free flow of trade in the gulf and through the Suez Canal. The main commodity we care about in that region is oil. Some people shorthand this as, "war for oil," which is not all that accurate.

In addition to free access to the oil market, for reasons that are beyond me, we also feel that defending Israel regardless of the cost is in our national interest. This one stumps me, but it is political suicide to suggest Israel can do any wrong, so we stick with it.
