Relax, I doubt Romney has the power to dictate state marriage laws...

First it was dumb comments about the London Olympics. Then we had his shoot first aim later comments on the Libya embassy. Now we have

“There are 47% of the people who will vote for the president no matter what. All right, there are 47% who are with him, who are dependent upon government, who believe that they are victims, who believe the government has a responsibility to care of them, who believe that they are entitled to healthcare, to food, to housing, to you name it,”
“That's an entitlement. And the government should give it to them. And they will vote for this president no matter what. … These are people who pay no income tax.

"My job is not to worry about those people, I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

So Romney doesn't care about 47% of US voters.
They are tax dodgers. Funny coming from a guy who pays tax at a lower rate than most middle class Obama supporters.

Video available

He said this not knowing that he was being recorded.

I don't know about you, but for me that makes it worse. Clearly the man is too stupid to realize that pretty much ALL comments made anywhere by him are being recorded. At the very least, he needs a security briefing about leaks . . . coming from his own mouth.

Of course it is worse for you. You know you are one of those it is said he does not care about

Just like Obama does not care about me

Nobody cares. It's about the economy.

It proves Romney's an idiot. If he claims that 47% of voters will vote for Obama no matter what, it then means that all Obama has to do is win 3% of the remaining 53%

Then this makes Obama an idiot too. It is no different for him

it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

At some point it just becomes "too bad for Romney." Looks like he's reached that point.

Wrong, at some point it becomes too bad for America. Wait till the checks start bouncing.

You take the following statement and turn it into a doesnt care spin

Quote

"My job is not to worry about those people, I'll never convince them they should take personal responsibility and care for their lives."

Either your reading comp sucks or your tingley leg syndrome is in overdrive

So tell us all great teacher

Is there a lie in any of this?

Clicked on this forum. Saw the title of this thread off to the side. Couldn't see who started it, but I knew from the title who it was. I was right.

The comment was clear if you watch the video. It's what every politician does. It's his job as a candidate to not worry about the people whose vote he can not win. It is his job as a candidate to focus on swing voters. He described it just fine. His meaning was clear.

Kallend is distorting things again.

Other people on this thread are claiming Romney is unintelligent because he told the truth in public. I have no idea how intelligent he is, but his education is beyond reproach and he's done pretty well in life from any obective standpoint. Now, he's honest, too? I don't get the logic. But then, I often don't follow the purported logic of some of the denizens of this forum.
I know it just wouldnt be right to kill all the stupid people that we meet..

But do you think it would be appropriate to just remove all of the warning labels and let nature take its course.

What people are upset about is that it is not the truth. Everyone likes to throw around the 47% number without thinking about it. IIRC Obama received 53% of the popular vote, or something close. Do you really think that only 6% of the population are both Democrats and pay income tax? Do you really think that 88.7% of Obama supporters pay no income tax, and 100% of McCain supporters do? Everyone talks about Obama trying to incite class warfare, but this statement by Romney is worse than anything Obama has ever said.

Not to mention the fact (discussed ad naseum here) that income tax is not the only federal tax.

Romney tells us that the Dems are waging class warfare, then along comes a video of him writing off nearly half of the US population.

Irony score off the scale.

Really, the irony scale has been destroyed by your post here.

Funny to see how shocked people get when a candidate speaks the truth.

So you too believe that 47% of the US voting population, including all Obama supporters, are freeloaders who avoid paying tax and just want government handouts.

Your definition of "truth" is rather strange.

Except that was NOT what he said.

Try again.

Except it isn't anywhere close to the truth.

Other than that, I guess you're right.

I'll wait for you to tell me which parts are not truthful.... BTW...if it turns out that this costs him the election I'm good with that. It will confirm what I suspect about the future of the US.

You just keep cashing those checks Dan.

You're so funny.

In fact, I do get two checks from the government every month. Well, direct deposit, but you get the idea. That money is non-taxable according to current law. I also get a regular paycheck from my full time professional job. I pay income taxes on that.

I guess half of me is the free loader that Mitt doesn't care about, but he wants a vote from my other half. I'm torn.

The Obummer campaign has in writing admitted that they've written off the white working class voter.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

I'm pretty sure you're voting twice to cover these halves. We urgently need voter ID law to prevent you from committing this fraud in the elections.
