All cuts are painful. You can't just say "cut things I don't like" because someone, somewhere needs it. Wrong. Asserting that everything that the government spends money on is "needed" by someone is stupid. It clearly shows the libs will not pursue cuts in spending, for someone needs it. They only claim to want to cut spending so that taxes can get raised first, while the spending cuts are sought and never realized. Really pathetic. Liberal members of congress and Obummer think that any government spending of any kind on anything is worthwhile because it is a stimulus to the economy. QuoteNow conservatives are claiming Obama is throwing grandma over a cliff. Wrong. Conservatives are not making such a claim (except perhaps, rightly, to mock stupid liberal ads). Only liberals make such stupid claims. It is correct to say it is a cut in benefits (the term libs like to use), - that it will result in medicare patients being far less able to get the benefits that Obummer says have not been cut. Obummer says there is no cut in benefits, because he declares that providers will just be paid less. The providers still (for now) have the freedom to say no.People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

A portion of my paycheck funds a TV show that I've never watched yikes A much larger portion of my paycheck supported a war in Iraq that I strongly opposed. Has the thought ever occured to you that if everyone paid the same amount in taxes, that maybe poorer people would stop voting for politicians that spend their money on wars? True. Every poor person in the country would be in jail for nonpayment of taxes; few poor people could afford the ~$40,000 annual tax bill (which is what it would be if you had everyone pay the same amount.) And people in jail don't vote.

And people in jail don't vote. Over time, the poor will get more involved in politics and eventually vote in politicians who are against jailing them. At the same time, expenditures on wars etc. will begin to dwindle as less money is available. This is a great way for the poor to get more involved in taking charge of their own fate and at the same time eliminating unnecessary wars. I would think you lefties would support anything that stops wars.
