Obama's narrative for this election is centered around "I killed Bin Laden, and because of this the problems with al Qaeda have been solved". However someone forgot to tell the Islamists that they were never supposed to attack American interests anymore and instead of Obama being honest with the America people and telling them on September 11th, 4 Americans died in a terrorist attack. They looked for a scape goat and selected this video.

The rest of his comments, indeed the thrust of his comments, was about the hundreds of thousands of people protesting that had nothing to do with Benghazi, and in fact were mostly in different cities and different countries around the Muslim world. That's why I asked if you thought the Administration was behind the whole thing. If you don't believe that, then it really doesn't make sense to characterize all of his comments as lies, because the attack in Benghazi was only a very small part of the overall story.

Um, no. His narrative, insofar as the War on Terror is concerned, is that he refocused our efforts where they belonged, namely against al Qaeda, and that we have started to make significant progress. I've never heard him, or anyone else in the Administration, say that the war is over, and all of the problems with terrorism have been solved.

First of all, I never admitted that Obama lied in front of the UN. Maybe he did, maybe he didn't. I don't think we'll know that for sure for a long time. I was merely addressing the tone of your post, which made it sound like every word that came out of his mouth was a lie. I was pointing out that most of his comments were quite true. There were most definitely protests over the video. The fact that the terrorists in Benghazi used those protests as concealment for their operation doesn't change the fact that the protests happened.

rushmc seems to think that everything related to the video is a lie because the two incidents (video protests and Benghazi attack) happened at the same time. I'm glad you don't feel the same way.

And since I'm blabbing on, I very much doubt that some of the stuff that is being thrown around regarding the Administration's response to the attack is even close to true. I can't believe that Obama was sitting in the situation room, watching live video like in a Tom Clancy movie, knowing that well armed terrorists were engaging in a planned assault, and said, "Fuck 'em, I'm going to bed." Things just don't happen like that. I would not be at all surprised to find out that the requests for assistance never even made it to the White House until it was too late. Why on Earth, if the White House knew what was happening, would he not respond? If response were so easy as claimed by some, why wasn't a response made by the local commander? The anti-Obama narrative has as many holes in it as the pro-Obama narrative.
