Coreeece 2 #1926 August 20, 2015 kallend***. There may have to be a lot of cuts, but in any event, I think schooling and medical assistance should be the only priority.... All northbound lanes of I-65 in Indiana are closed for at least a month following a partial bridge collapse due to deferred maintenance. The detour adds 30 minutes to travel time for all traffic between Indianapolis, Louisville (and points south and southeast) and Chicago, Milwaukee (and all points north). This is just one of many many examples of ill-conceived cutbacks in infrastructure that adversely affect the US economy. Failure to maintain our infrastructure is a result of short sighted taxcutting with long term ramifications. Dwight D. Eisenhower would rotate in his grave if he knew how his party has so fucked-up the highway system that bears his name. Do what we can I guess...but something tells me that if things don't change, bad roads will be the least of our problems...Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour

And also Reagan the Actor played the President... not real good portrayal because look how many of his minions were out of control running cute little ops all over the world.... but many of the followers of Saint Reagan still beatified him Its what they do... Yep, even though most of those six years were during an economic recovery. And yet we are still clamoring for lower taxes and more spending and still playing the partisan politics game. We may need to see some _real_ pain as a country before we change our ways.
Anvilbrother 0 #1931 August 20, 2015 The CPI has risen more than our cost of living increase. Combine that with higher insurance premiums and everyone at work has brought home less money per year than the previous year for the last like 5 years. Everyone is sick and tired of being sick and tired. I know times have been worse decades ago, so I'm not complaining too bad but damn we gotta get this shit together. He can, however, do great damage to a country in many other ways. And maybe we have to see that damage actually happen before we start taking our responsibilities as voters more seriously. Anvilbrother 0 #1933 August 20, 2015 I am going to flat out disagree with the first part and agree with the end. Just like mass cutting of taxes can make you fall short(GOP) bailouts and giving away money(DEM) both can put you in the hole. Sometimes they can be the person directly making it happen, other times it is their agenda. While it's true the middle class is shrinking and wages are stagnant, corporate America is putting a shitload of cash in the bank while at the same time paying less and giving shittier benifits. Who would of ever thought that spending hundreds of billions of dollars on wars, while giving huge tax cuts to the wealthiest 1%, could ever have a down side? normiss 801 #1947 August 20, 2015 Cars (many manufacturers are seeing double digit increases from previous year), RV's (40 year high this year), boats (10-12% over same period last year), and motorcycles (up over 8% from previous year) are flying off the lots so fast manufacturers can hardly keep up production. People feel pretty comfortable to do that. Overall, durable goods are up. Economic snapshot The upcoming rate hike should speak volumes, I expect to most of us, it does. Of course, some here will tell you the world ends next month, so it won't matter.
