No more Twinkies?

If they bite you do you turn into a zombie? Fast or slow? With all that sugar I'd assume you'd end up a pretty fast zombie. Or do you turn into a twinkie? Or can they only bite other twinkies? If so they'll die out pretty quickly (no new twinkies.)

It's a damn good thing Hostess folded, in that case.

So, what you're saying is . . . These new Twinkies will be zombie Twinkies.

No. "Twinkie" is a name. We're not talking about "Prince" - the same entity renaming itself. We're talking about the name being transferred.

Think of Fender. There are Fender guitars, then there was Fender after CBS bought it. Same name, but a different product.

:D Well played.

we could, alternatively, have gone the route of referencing the oily liquid that the Twinkies cake seems to be saturated with......

but I thought that would be in poor taste

the contracts were written by the previous management and owners, who went out of business. the new owners have now gone out of business. no one is reneging on anything. one of the parties in the contract no longer exist. my dad died before he paid me on a football debt, he did not renege on our agreement. the agreement is void because he no longer exist.

short of a bankrupcy, when you buy a company you get both its assets and its liabilities and obligations. That would include in place contracts, but not after a set expiration date.

That said, retention bonuses are essential on a sinking ship, because otherwise those people will move on at the first opportunity, without notice. The bonus is a golden handcuff ensuring that they will see it out. I endured 19 months in that state through the middle of last year.

I'm pretty sure any product offered will take thousands of years to break down fully to liquid

A couple of kids ran all the standard materials tests on Twinkies a number of years ago: Twinkies Project (shamelessly also posted in Bonfire, where the discussion took a turn towards the flavor or lack thereof :D)

There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
