That's exactly why we have a government and laws that we live by. Your guy lost. Get over it. That's the poorly thought out response I expected. Thanks for being consistent. Appropriate response to your silly question. Only in your world where more and more oppressive government interference in peoples live is a good thing. A 39.5% marginal top tax rate is not oppressive. The tax rate was higher under Eisenhower, Nixon and Reagan. Making statements like that just makes you look foolish. Calling for tax increases to punish a very small part of our society is foolish. Taxes aren't punishment. You continue to look foolish. What's foolish is buying the government line that increasing taxes on wealthy people will get us out of this ditch.. No-one said it would. You continue to look foolish. I'm rubber, you're glue. Fairly easy to understand. sounds evasive. California's top bracket used to be 9.4% and it kicks in around 50some k in gross earnings. So it applies to any white collar worker. Now we do have a 10.4% rate that only applies to much higher incomes. That 90% marginal rate we once had applied to very few people, just as the original intent of the AMT only applied to a few hundred thousands. So it's dishonest to compare that 90% bracket paid for a handful versus a 35% bracket paid by millions.

Well, they are paying quite a bit lower rate than I do. Even more so, if you include FICA. +1 Seems I am paying at about 1.5x the rate that Romney is....
