popsjumper 2 #76 January 19, 2013 QuoteCan anyone explain to me how any of the new gun laws being discussed will prevent mass shootings? Derek V Nope. Nobody can. It's simple. There's no basis in fact. Anybody trying to tell you it will is only blowing smoke and their replies will be disguised misdirections. My reality and yours are quite different. I think we're all Bozos on this bus. Falcon5232, SCS8170, SCSA353, POPS9398, DS239
OHCHUTE 0 #77 January 19, 2013 QuoteThe father of a man who was killed in the clackamas town mall shooting in oregon, was on the news tonight. He said that blaming a weapon for killing is like blaming a pencil for a misspelled word. He is against gun bans and feels they would only keep good people from having them, and would do nothing to keep them out of the hands of criminals. Can we just put this quote up on all gun discussion threads as, really that's the problem. Can't legislate against unpredictability, sane to insane etc. We can watch for indicators that might lead people to believe someone presents a threat but absolutely know one knows when they'll be a threat. kallend 2,027 #78 January 19, 2013 People, there's not going to be a gun ban. It will never pass and I doubt it was ever intended to pass. Looks to me like a bargaining chip in the negotiations that will go on. A chip that will be discarded in exchange for concessions from the gun lobby on tightening background checks and better reporting of mental health issues.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
