Either use a large fixed device or a handheld tool that is just an input/output device, wirelessly linked to a server. Large fixed device will be easier to defend/control. >The database you propose would be so immense getting accurate data polled in a >standard amount of time(with a tool border agents can use that is portable) seems to >be rather insurmountable. You mean the search algorithm? With modern processing speeds and genetic search algorithms it's not a big problem. The privacy/security concerns would dwarf any technological problems IMO. regulator 0 #27 January 8, 2013 I agree with you in regards to search algorythms. However with all the surnames and aliases there are bound to have some that slip through the cracks. I would hope the goal for the database you propose would be 100% accountability.

Well, a biometric database doesn't rely on names - it relies on biometric data. DNA, retinal patterns, fingerprints. (Although names will certainly be a part of it.) > I would hope the goal for the database you propose would be 100% accountability. Definitely not; nothing is. I'd aim for good accuracy, with an ~80% accuracy rate, improving with time. Reduce false positives at the expense of false negatives.
OHCHUTE 0 #29 January 8, 2013 We actually need immigrant/ shoppers. Without shoppers we're pretty much dead in the water. Overall, latino are good people and family orientated. I just wished they'd speak English when in Home Depot. I blaim the Japaneese for the latino language proplem as they were the ones printing spanish on products for American consumption causing immigrant not to learn English. Yes, it's been a while since we saw horrible things happen to American Indians. We can blaim the revolver on that one. Just to powerful against the bow. Sorry for archery failings. Yes for 40 years in Cheeroke country you could shoot and kill an Indian no questions asked. We can thank the Dutch for saving the Indian kids after their parents were slaughtered/ murdered. I hope Jackson is still rotting for that.
