Just a week after North Dakota's lawmakers approved a package of sweeping anti-abortion reforms, Kansas is making its own mark. The state's legislature passed a bill on Friday night that includes a declaration that life begins “at fertilization,” a ban on sex-based abortion, and also blocks tax breaks for abortion providers. The bill was approved by the state House of Representatives 90-30 mere hours after it passed through the Senate, 28-10. The bill is expected to make it into law, since the state's governor is strongly anti-abortion, and the new constraints will probably take effect July

"Gee, Rush, I can't understand how we keep losing women's votes . . ."

"Well, Sean, it can only be one thing - the evil lying liberal media. I mean, it definitely isn't anything we're doing. They must be telling lies about us. Yeah, that's the ticket."

Well, there's the other stuff in there that's more of the "eroding" type. I'm not for sex-selective abortions (although there supposedly are ways to increase your chances of having a boy or girl at conception as well).

I'm not sure I think sex-selection abortions should be illegal; getting your toddler daughters to participate in beauty pageants isn't, neither is feeding your children until they are morbidly obese. But I'm on the fence on the legality of sex-selection abortions.

So you see nothing wrong with sex selective abortions? Sad ... [:/]

Nice try. Actually, amateurish. He didn't say that; and you don't get to put words in other people's mouths, little skipper.

you know, I didn't even see who that was, I read it, and assumed it was Kallend.

Abortion is so hard for me to say anything about.

I think its a really shitty thing at the same time you have the right to do as you wish. I feel different about it every time i think about it.

Weather i think its wrong or right is not the issue taking away the right for someone to make up there own mind is.

does that mean only women get to choose? but men must get abortions if they become pregnant? or the other way around.....

just another example about how terribly sexist the whole abortion continues to be........

ABORTIONS FOR ALL!

Kang: Abortions for all.
[crowd boos]
Kang: Very well, no abortions for anyone.
[crowd boos]
Kang: Hmm... Abortions for some, miniature American flags for others.
[crowd cheers and waves miniature flags]

Ok, I'll jump in and I know it won't surprise anyone to say I'm totally in favor of this bill.
Yup, I'm anti-aboration.

Don't have one then.

And don't stick your nose in other womens' business either.

Right, wait until the children are born and then support a government that sticks their nose into everything involved in raising a child.

The immense concern that Right Wing Conservatards and the anti-choice nosy fucking bastards have for the "unborn children" is really impressive. Too bad that concern stops completely at delivery. These are the same asswipes who oppose a baseline National Medical System for all citizens. They oppose prenatal care subsidized or paid for by government. Anything that helps a poor, unmarried single mother is "A GOVERNMENT HANDOUT" that simply must not happen under any circumstances.

It is very sad that no one seems to have any education of history and how the USA came to where we are today. Women died due to illegal abortion. Many were maimed for life. The decision to have, or not have, an abortion is a deeply personal one. Those that argue for freedom and personal choice, while advocating for government intervention in the most personal decision a woman can make, are hypocrites of the highest order.

The same halfwits that decry government intervention in their selection of firearms and accessories like high cap magazines are 100% in favor of restrictions on the private medical decisions of 1/2 the population. The word is hipocrisy. The so called "freedom lovers" are all for freedom, unless you are female. Then you'll do what GOVERNMENT dictates when the issue of pregnancy comes up.

The worst part of this whole issue is the fact that wealthy women will be able to have abortions safely as they are free to travel elsewhere to have medical procedures performed. The burden of the government intrusion on personal medical decisions falls strictly on the less fortunate.

From a strictly practical standpoint, I would rather the government pay for abortions that to shell out for welfare and medicaid for the unwanted children.

It still doesn't make sense that the "moral indignation" over goverment funding for abortions applies, while MY moral indignation over the use of goverment funds for premeditated invasion and occupation of other countries does not. Planned war that kills hundreds of thousands of adults and children, and causes mass migration of millions to adjoining countres is somehow LESS important than "unborn babies". What a fucked up set of morals the USA has developed.
