Not so good in Turkey right now. :/

Very glad my daughter finished her 10 month stay in Turkey in August. She's been in Taiwan since November and is coming home in less than 2 months...hopefully there won't be another clash between the Taiwanese and China before then. 1 year in Wyoming followed by 2 years Peace Corp, who I hope (but doubt) will send her somewhere peaceful.

Sounds like you raised a wonderful daughter.

This has been going on for a while.

All over a shopping mall being built on a park..:S

The issue is an elected official who has decided he is king and can overrule his own gov't agencies, and impose a Muslim-based rule over people. The park was only the tipping point.

This elected official is also a reflection of the majority of the electorate of Turkey. Sadly, a lot of Turks dig the term "Neo Ottomanism."

Remember, we are talking about a country that jails journalists for calling the Armenian genocide of the past century what it was -- a genocide. I wouldn't be surprised if this dickhead pulls some Tienanmen Square kind of shit in the near future.

You mean "another" elected official......? This guy has the world by the tail. He doesn't need NATO as Russia is no longer a threat (maybe a friend). Barrybarack should be proud of himself; this one didn't cost us a dime.

Not bad for a girl who, when told to go clean her room by daddy after mommy called him because she wouldn't listen to her, stomped up the stairs saying "shit, shit, SHIT" on each of the last three risers before entering and slamming the door to her room. :D Amazing how I remember it told by Dave years ago.
