You don't like what I write online so you openly tell me you want me dead? Would you like my address so you can openly threaten my children, too? ETA: The preferred usage in context would be "fewer", not "less". preferred usage by you might be fewer, rather than less maybe, but then again that's a purely subjective suggestion anyways... Why do you lefties always have to try to tell others how to even talk now?If some old guy can do it then obviously it can't be very extreme. Otherwise he'd already be dead. I was making a comment (a personal opinion) that the only reason why we are where we are with this issue was because the media has blown the whole incident up far beyond anywhere where it should have gone, and this Andy character took exception to my comments and went on the attack (apparently I am not entitled to the opinion that the Consensus Mainstream Media is dishonest). Then he made a silly remark saying "why don't we all slit our wrists". Seeing that I have the personal opinion that lawyers are sleeze bags (with all due respect to lawrocket who is a good guy), I made the comment of "go ahead make my day" and now it has escalated to where apparently I am now making death threats towards his children? For fuck sakes can this whole thing get any more retarded. Want to know what is wrong in America these days, look no further than the dishonest media, the predatory lawyers, the special interest groups and the corrupt politicians (who are pretty much all lawyers) who cater to the media and the special interests to keep their wheels greased. PS: let he/she who has never made a spelling/grammatical error in their life cast the first stone if my spelling and grammar do not live up to their standards. devildog 0 #54 July 16, 2013 tkhayesthe book is not 'racism'. It's about racism. If you have not read it, then you have no reason to comment on it. People of color are systematically discriminated against in this country and every judicial statistic supports that. Unless of course you have countering data, in which case I am all ears. But you do not in fact have any data other that your own opinion. Yes and no. There is certainly discrimination that goes on in the country, but its a far cry from what it used to be. As far as criminal stats go, the funny thing about it is that while certain ethnicity groups commit a disproportionate amount of crime (or at least, convicted of it), race goes right out the window when you factor in family status. In other words, it doesn't matter your skin color. If you come from abroken home, you're likely to commit crime and be jailed. Unfortunately, if you're part of certain groups, you're more likely to be from a broken home that's not so well off. And I'm sure someone will demand a LMGTFY, so here's one of many links: http://www.heritage.org/research/reports/1995/03/bg1026nbsp-the-real-root-causes-of-violent-crimeYou stop breathing for a few minutes and everyone jumps to conclusions. kelpdiver 2 #55 July 16, 2013 tkhayesBecause people of color in the USA are still widely discriminated against, and systematically at that. And mostly reflected in the criminal justice system. So they see problems with the criminal justice system, and they protest what they see as a continuation of that discrimination. It's not rocket science No doubt they "see" problems. But how far their vision is from reality here is perhaps a reflection of a really low high school graduation rate. The only reason this trial occurred was due to perceptions of criminal injustice. The result was a given.

If you think that the "perception", among black people, of ongoing systemic racial discrimination and pervasive racial inequality in the police-judicial system is concentrated disproportionately on those with poor educations, you are very, very sorely mistaken. regulator 0 #62 July 16, 2013 Fearing for their lives after receiving "an enormous amount of death threats," George Zimmerman's parents have remained in hiding since a Florida jury cleared their son of murder charges in the shooting death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin, they told ABC News. The Zimmermans told ABC they are too afraid to return to their Orlando home, and they haven't even spoken to their son, who also is in hiding. "Under the circumstances, we have not been able to talk to him," Gladys Zimmerman told ABC's Barbara Walters. "To tell you the truth, we don't trust anything, not even the phones." "We have had an enormous amount of death threats. George's legal counsel has had death threats, the police chief of Sanford, many people have had death threats," Robert Zimmerman said. "'Everyone with Georgie's DNA should be killed' — Just every kind of horrible thing you can imagine." George Zimmerman lives off small stipends from his legal defense fund and is unemployed and without health insurance, Gladys Zimmerman said. Asked if he can ever have a normal life again, she said, "Only time will tell." "Even for us, we have not been living a normal life for the past months. It is hard," she said. "We have lost everything, everything — the whole family, not only George. The whole family. We have lost everything." After deliberating for 16 hours, a jury of six women late Saturday found Zimmerman not guilty of second-degree murder, sparking a wave of protests across the nation. Gladys Zimmerman called the demonstrations "hurtful." "This is America, and we went through all of this with the judicial system," Gladys Zimmerman said. "They wanted an arrest for my son. They got an arrest. Now let's, you know, find a verdict ... now they have a verdict. ... He went through the whole process they were pushing for, and now they are not happy with the verdict, and I pray. I pray for them, for God to touch their heart." Zimmerman's parents continued to defend him against charges that he is a racist or that he initially approached Martin while on a community patrol because the teenager was black. "He's never been taught to be a racist," Robert Zimmerman said. "Color is the last thing to come to his mind." "When George first saw Trayvon Martin he had no idea what color he was," he added. "He knew he was inside a gated community. He didn't recognize him as living there. It was raining. He was just casually walking very slowly. But George did not initially know what race a person was." He said the decision to bring charges against his son was based on politics rather than the facts. "I never thought that we would see so much hatred, and the hatred is not brought on by any racial incident," Robert Zimmerman said. "It was brought on by attorneys being totally untruthful, other people being involved, having a certain narrative, having a certain agenda, and making this situation race-based and a political issue." Asked what they would say to Martin's family, Gladys Zimmerman said, "We are deeply sorry for this tragedy. "We pray for Trayvon Martin to be in a better place," she said. "He is always in our prayers." http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/zimmerman-parents-death-threats/2013/07/16/id/515324?s=al&promo_code=1430E-
