Just look at those who have followed since your post (Jakee and GeorgiaDon) who are trying to bait me into their traps.

You have got to be fucking kidding me. A question is a trap?

Arrogance is hardly a "progressive" (odd choice of words, but whaddevah) monopoly. I think that it is pretty broadly human trait... progressive or not. In my experience, it cannot even be said that one group holds predominance in this trait. I think that what happens is when someone holds similar values to oneself, one is far more willing to overlook these sorts of negative traits.

The man is in vogue with the bombers of the sixties when he is merely described as, "the bomber"; not "terrorist".

That's right! They only described him as a monster, not a terrorist. And we all know that monster is secret lib code for really cool guy.

......

The front cover described him as a "bomber"; not a monster, but you are right in this case. The use of "monster" was exactly a secret lib code for "really cool guy". Stopping with "monster" in describing this POS, is why a lot of people in Boston are upset.

QUOTE: The outrage isn't just coming from Facebook. CVS, Rite Aid and Walgreens announced Wednesday afternoon they would not carry the issue out of respect for the marathon bombing victims.

"As a company with deep roots in New England and a strong presence in Boston, we believe this is the right decision out of respect for the victims of the attack and their loved ones," CVS said in a statement.

Walgreens announced on Twitter it would not sell the issue at its stores. On its Facebook page, Tedeschi's, a popular convenience store chain in Boston, wrote:

[We support] the need to share the news with everyone, but cannot support actions that serve to glorify the evil actions of anyone. With that being said, we will not be carrying this issue of Rolling Stone. Music and terrorism don't mix!

A spokesperson for Rolling Stone did not return a message seeking comment. The publication's editors posted a statement on its website Wednesday afternoon: END OF QUOTE

Another example of Liberal media trying to get a rise out of people. I haven't heard the name Rolling Stone for years. Now I'm here talking about it. The person depicted on the cover of the magazine is a murder and I'm so sorry they didn't torch the boat that the sob could have felt real pain. Now he's laughing at you for not taking care of business on the boat trailer.

You did not actually look at the cover, did you... it says it right there. All you need to do is click in the image, and you see the full cover. That is ok. Blushing in embarrassment is a perfectly natural response :)

Fixed.
And please do not even attempt to convince me that corporate policy has anything to do with this 'liberal/conservative' dichotomy that seems so prevalent in North America. All they care about is $$. Bottom line.

Typical liberal, trying to respond with facts to a discussion that has more important points to make.

When you people see something that sets your Pavlovian responses going you do literally no fact checking at all before barking, do you? See attachment.

Leaving the craziness of that sentence on its own, can you explain why you think 'the left', or 'libs' in general would like this person?

Why would Obama think he's cool? Why would rolling Stone think he's great? Why would I want to give him a big pat on the back for a job well done?

Obama's association with bomber/killer Bill Ayers brings this to mind. Regarding "monster", http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/news/rolling-stone-tsarnaev-cover-130704813.html my cover did not show the word monster. No matter how you try to pull this your way, the people of Boston have spoken. EDITED TO ADD: http://www.theobamafile.com/_associates/BillAyers.htm Be sure to read this is old news.

My mistake; you are totally correct..... Like I said this description is too light for this POS, monster or no monster (including the pretty boy picture). Can you deal with the response from the Boston public?

Monster is a pretty heavy description. It was considered pretty apro po for the most infamous serial killers in history; Manson, Jack the Ripper, Luis Garavito... the list goes on. I do not see this word in any way being a light or forgiving way of describing Tsarnaev. I totally agree that he should in no way be glorified, or given recognition. If it is specifically the word 'terrorist' that you are looking for, then I think you are missing the point of even your own argument, though. He just shouldn't be up there. No matter what the descriptors. I quite agree on that.

Does anyone know if he's going to buy five copies for his mother?:|

This morning as NPR was talking about this, they actually quoted some of the lyrics from "Cover of the Rolling Stone". :D

They also pointed out that the NY Times used that same photo in its cover back in May.

Yeah but in their minds, you just proved their point. NYT is just another liberal rag that is intent on destroying 'murica.

After considering this for a day, I've decided I think its a good thing. All too often, we dehumanize others in order to feel more comfortable with our emotions and actions. Whether it's muslims, or nazis, or terrorists, or illegals, or murderers...the list is almost endless, but the basic concept is to somehow differentiate ourselves in such a way that we are a) not them and b) better than them. Personally, I believe our actions will be much more rational and defensible if we avoid this step and realize the guy next door you just barbequed with MIGHT be hiding three women in his basement, the Army guy who's lunch you just bought anonymously MIGHT be planning the next OKC bombing, and the kid who delivers your pizza MIGHT be planning the next Boston Marathon bombing. This will make us more vigilant. By the same token, those who commit such crimes will remain someone's son, husband, neighbor, or father, which might compel us to be a bit more pragmatic in our delivery of justice instead of simply screaming for blood before the trial even starts.

Yes, the picture of the cover that was blatantly deliberately cropped to exclude the word 'monster' and the one that, like I said, you did zero fact checking (hint, the link to the full cover was available in the first paragraph of the article you posted) on before barking about their liberal bias. Not bothering to check is not an excuse for being wrong, especially when you continued to insist you were right after it was pointed out to you that you were wrong.

Irrelevant. Obama's purported association with Ayres has nothing to do with this.

I'm pretty much a liberal. Tell me why you think I would like Tsarnaev. What have you got?

Really? Dude, they're actually blaming Radical Islam, right there on the cover, for changing a 'normal' person into a mass murderer. How does any self respecting conservative manage to disagree with that?

Talk about easy. The editors and owners of RS, knew exactly what they were doing. Getting people to talk, and BS, about the cover. No shortage here. What they didn't expect were distributors pulling the rag from shelves. I wonder the financial gain or loss in the decision to print the pic that resulted in pulled product.

About the pic. Who cares. The guy should have been killed while he WAS SHOOTING at cops.

Darling of the left? Bit of a stretch isn't it Rick? Darling of 13 year old angry goth & indy girls maybe. Thats the only reason he is on the front cover, because teenage girls think he's hot and will buy the mag.
