He may not have actually had what he claimed to have had but if he was a criminal and claimed he had an assault weapon, I suspect most of you would have supported the Police breaking down his door to find out.. Surely you have a better argument than that. FYI, just for sake of historical accuracy, Saddam never claimed to have WMD for years prior to our invasion. Perhaps you are forgetting the Iraq/Iran War and that one time (by one I mean several times) Saddam decided he was not a big fan of the Kurds and used chemical weapons on them. FYSA chemical weapons are classified as WMDs so while he may have never claimed to have WMD his use of them clearly demonstrates that he did have them at some point.
