All accounts? Even the studies showing how bad American health care is give it a top rating in patient satisfaction. Understandably, some societies view satisfaction as secondary.

When Americans have been brainwashed from birth to believe the US system is the best, that's not an unexpected result. It is, of course, subjective.

MEASURABLE, objective outcomes tell a different story.

Ah. So subjective belief and desire are not something to be considered. "Don't like it? Fuck you. The numbers work." As I've frequently mentioned, despots give you only what they want to give you.

You can't POSSIBLY infer that the numbers might have been cherry picked and massages into bliss, can you?

Todd Blome's phone has been ringing off the hook this week with clients seeking tax advice after learning they'll get a "shocking increase" in their health insurance premiums when Obamacare's health insurance exchanges begin operating.

Letters have been landing in mailboxes all over Nebraska explaining the impact Obamacare will have on people who buy insurance coverage on their own, rather than through work.

Blome, a Lincoln accountant, understands: He got a letter, too.

Blue Cross Blue Shield Nebraska informed Blome his health care plan will terminate at year's end, and if he wants to move to a similar plan his new premium will go up 65 percent, costing him nearly $4,000 more per year.

I noticed I didn't receive any answer from John Kallend about what happens to his coverage. He said his cost went down. I simply don't believe him.

We have meetings next week that will explain more

As for kallen, I have not seen any post I would consider an answer from him in years

Mine went down too although that was because I aged beyond prime baby making years not Obamacare.

My adult son's catastrophic plan nearly doubled from $85 a month to $150.

hush - you must be filthy rich. and even mentioning it goes up will have someone tell you to shut up and get educated. Or you'll be called selfish racist and evil.

it goes up - because someone has to pay for it - someone has to pay for everything. services are not free.

No change in coverage. Big drop in premium.

My premium doesn't depend on what you believe.

Well fucked up. I'm in good health and have kept myself that way. My premium is going up.

And it turns out the lower cost plans have, you guessed it, rationing. They have fewer doctors and hospitals participating. Which means longer wait times. And how are the prices kept down? By subsidies.

What a perfect storm brewing...

Your premium went up ? Premiums have been going up forever, but in the last couple of years they have been going up at the lowest rate in fifty years.

You really have to love this new style of legislating, whoever controls the House can now insist on any demands they want while threatening too not fund the debt increase. Shoot the hostage and then blame the victim for not paying the random.

I'm not saying measures in the ACA don't help anyone, I'm saying claims that there isn't a raw end of the deal in all this are not in touch with reality.

Whatever agreements are made on the final stage of negotiations, they could have just as easily been made at the authorization stage of legislation without all the drama; I blame everyone at the table.

When politicians from either side of the aisle get control of a state or federal entity these days they go immediately into "mandate from the people" mode and they act like a contestant on a gameshow in one of those phone booths with cash being blown around inside.
