>Beginning at about 9:30 a.m., Sens. Mike Lee, R-Utah, and Ted Cruz, R-Texas, as well
>as former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, were among the luminaries in a crowd that chanted
>"Tear down these walls!"

Tear Down These Walls! that we built but TEAR THEM DOWN AND BLAME OBAMA! Please! And whatever you do, don't make us do our jobs!

Yes, imagine those pesky WW2 Veterans actually wanting to visit a memorial dedicated to them. Freakin radicals!!

What job was it Palin wasn't doing again??

Hey, lets go spit on some Vietnam Vets while were at it. We spit on them40 years ago. Obviously they learned nothing about how much we love them. Freakin Baby Killers!!

Quote

The REAL problem is they're all lawyers

Hm, lawyers, most of whom majored in government as undergrads, and who are naturally interested in government and law far more than the general population (just as doctors and engineers tend to be keenly interested in the hard sciences), working in government, making laws. You're right, it's most illogical.

:S

All they do is protect their turf to the detriment of the people and this country

Not even YOU can argue that point

Also, I know there are many good lawyers too
Just not enough of them to take on the others
"America will never be destroyed from the outside,
if we falter and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

Isn't it interesting that the left wingers are suddenly soooooo.........concerned about this country defaulting on it debt? What did they think was going to happen eventually, if we kept spending money the way we have for the last 40 years?

In the words of a famous philosopher:

"Americas Chickens .... Coming Home to Roost".

And imagine veterans thinking they can still get benefits. Those entitlement welfare queens!

But as Turtlespeed said, they're just another casualty of the GOP's "good fight."

So which right wing administrations reduced the debt?

Oh wonderful, now you are going to equate the benefits a person who put their life on the line to defend their country receives with some me 're do well Welfare Queen?

Tell you what, when you are at the DZ this weekend, walk up to a Veteran, preferably former Special Forces or equivalent and call them a Welfare Queen because they get benefits. Then let us know how that works out.

You probably missed the "last 40 years" part. If we don't do something about it NOW!! When should we address it? After your hero leaves office?

This makes it appear as if you're defending the "left wingers" being referred to. That implies that you're ok with the "yeah, we did it, but they did too" defense.

so are you ok with over-spending because it's been done before, or are you just mudslinging?

Most recent ORC poll:

43% like Obamacare as it is
35% oppose it because it goes too far
16% oppose it because it doesn't go far enough

Take the people who support Obamacare _and_ the people who want more of it and you are at 59%.

so just to be clear, you are taking a group labeled as opposing something, adding them to a group that supports something, and labeling it ALL as support. You have a promising career ahead of you in politics.

Just pointing out his double standard. Administrations of both parties have increased the debt, and in the past 40 years only one (DEM) has significantly reduced the deficit. The debt ceiling was raised 18 times under Ronald Reagan alone. Yet somehow only left wingers receive blame from Gravitymaster.

Civics test: Since the Constitution was ratified on June 21, 1788, how many years have there been with no federal debt?

With no debt? I would guess 0, I doubt the USA has ever been in the black.

With no deficit (increasing debt) ....Ill say.....15

>Hey, lets go spit on some Vietnam Vets while were at it.

Let's see who is spitting on these particular veterans. From the front page of the Million Vet March:

==========
The political agenda put forth by a local organizer in Washington DC was not in alignment with our message. We feel disheartened that some would seek to hijack the narrative for political gain. The core principle is about all Americans honoring Veterans in a peaceful and apolitical manner.
==========

Spit away, GOP! Keep hijacking those veterans for your own political purposes.

I gotta say you are losing very badly on this one. You got all excited about the trucker shutdown in DC - and it turns out you got taken in by a hoax. Then you got excited about the GOP's use of the veteran's march - and it turns out that the veteran's march wants nothing to do with the GOP's political opportunism. Maybe quit while you're behind.

(And if all these are proof of 'growing anger against Democrats' - they have nothing to worry about.)

i think even as you wrote that, you knew you're were shoveling bullshit.

And again you glossed over the point I made about VA benefits. You and the GOP "leadership" are making a big cry about veterans of long past wars not being able to stand in front of a memorial. Yet you don't give one shit that current, wounded, hurting veterans of our current wars are waiting months to over a year to get their applications for support approved, and right now with the closure, not a single one is being examined. Because we know the GOP and its members aren't big fans about any program that directly helps people.

But taking away the invective I just gave, why are memorials more important than the currently wounded? Those WWII vets can come back, or being part of that Great Generation, can manage without. A mild case of the feelings being hurt seem much less a crime than neglecting the Afghan war veterans that are killing themselves at high rates.

******Meanwhile, you are Charlie-Sheen-winning this thread.

Maybe you need to re-evaluate the way you see things.

maybe...as I see it now, you're dodging my question the way Bush dodged Vietnam.

it's difficult when you start out making stupid assumptions. Conversations with you tend to go down hill from there.

I bet you don't even see the irony in what you posted . . . .

But keep it up. Maybe there will be another "million man march" that will top out at 170 people. It will be fun to watch you spin it.

Taking lessons from the Black Knight in Monty Python?

The right wing of the GOP has screwed it up big time on this issue. Deal with it.

I find it fascinating comparing the differences in attitudes about government protests between OWS, a bunch of maggot infested ne're do well, self-centered narcissists and Patriotic Veterans who put their lives on the line for their country.

Yep, some people here really need to examine their values.
