skydivevkc 0 #1 January 26, 2014 Happy to see skydiving get a good review from the press, but sure wish the demo jumpers had listened to their pilot when the exit spot was announced. Due to the fact the spotter delayed the exit, they were quite far downwind and had to track back to get good opening distance. Never should have to do that for any demo! Oops......lucky they made it.....could have been embarrassing.
jimmytavino 16 #2 January 26, 2014 wouldn't they be Flying Upwind for jumprun?? and so any 'delay' would only put them Further upwind....not necessarily a Bad Thing.... everybody landed just fine.... so what is your point...??? jmy
SkyCoi 0 #3 January 26, 2014 I've seen Thunderstorm jump into Mile High many times - they are always very professional, well prepared and spot on. The crowd loves them and they represent the skydiving community extremely well. Criticize something that needs criticizing - there's plenty to choose from. skydivevkc 0 #4 January 27, 2014 Yes, they should have been flying upwind, but it appeared they were not. Watch the video. They tracked to the stadium and landed into the wind.....without turning the 180. As a pilot, there may have been a reason for a downwind jump run...it does happen from time to time.Quote I still enjoyed the video and getting good press is rare. Glad they did! When doing demos it happens now & then...traffic over the city, being called in earlier or later than expected - there are all kinds of reasons. The fact they made it in says they were in a position do do so at exit...make a skydive - get a check! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
