Feds lay siege to Nevada ranch

>I heard today, that little soiree to take his cattle, thrown by the BLM cost in
>excess of $900,000.00 paid for by us taxpayers.

Still cheaper than the over 1 million in grazing fees he owes (which of course is adding to the amount we all have to pay.)

So to all the people who were cheering this scofflaw on - congratulations, another million or so in debt.

Sorry, I low-balled the figure. If you would, check Normiss' post in this thread. The cost to the BLM was closer to 3-mill. That was some return they got for their buck. Rather our tax payer dollars! No one has handed Bundy a bill and besides, he didn't tell them to take his cattle... the BLM just took them.
How do you figure that 'we' are paying his grazing fees... you lost me with that one.

According to people who can not possibly know!

Not in any way, shape or form.

:ph34r::ph34r: Well... who do you think would know? I'll be more than happy to check with them.

God?
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

As sad as the Bundy's problems are, this EPA takeover of all watersheds/wetlands is much much worse for all of America's ranchers, agriculture and rural private property owners.

Sooner or later a revolution of some sort is coming.

And that is what the Tealaban is looking to incite.

http://www.forwardprogressives.com/anti-government-militia-considered-using-women-human-shields/

But the shocking part of this whole story isn’t just Bundy’s anti-federal government ignorance, but a revelation that came to light when former Arizona Sheriff Richard Mack was interviewed on Fox News. Mack revealed that he and others who had gone down to support Bundy had planned to use women as human shields against the Bureau of Land Management in case officers began shooting.

Mack (who admits he sides with the tea party) said, “We were actually strategizing to put all the women up at the front. If they are going to start shooting, it’s going to be women that are going to be televised all across the world getting shot by these rogue federal officers.”

Tea Bagging Heros... hiding behind women and praying for the gubmint to martyr the women.. disgusting.

You are using the privilege of historical hindsight or put it another way...Monday Morning Quarterbacking. At the time of their "crimes" those cited weren't exactly considered to be societal heroes, cultural icons etc etc.

With apologies to DeNiro..."Is that all you got?"

So a "hick cowboy" gives the finger to the Feds and how do they respond? They come in like a bunch of Spec Ops wannabes in their paramilitary garb, automatic weapons and snipers hidden in position and one of them has the temerity to tell one of the demonstrators that "We're here to keep you safe!" Good gawd give me break on that one.

Happens in the inner-cities all the time. I don't see any militias standing up to protect them.

Library books too late, swat team entry.
Couple of plants in your house, swat team knocks in the front door.
Etc.

But those inner city folk don't really look American, so they are probably illegal anyways.

***Earlier in this thread, I suggested a visit from the feds... not an army but a couple agents but that was ruled out as being too costly.

Not quite. You suggested that ONLY a face to face visit was required as if to suggest this entire thing could be avoided by two local BLM agents knocking on a door. I'm fairly certain that over the years this was part of the chain of escalation.

You and others have also implied this "siege" was the first time the rancher had ever been made aware of the situation he had created by allowing his cattle to graze on public land without paying the accosted fees to to so.

That is all nonsense whipped up into a right-wing militia frenzy by the family with the assistance of said same groups.

wow... look who's been taking shit stirring lessons from Prof Kallend

This thread is amazing.
Really.
:|

yeah... he's right.

drop this thread. Take the time you would have spent bickering here, and spend it learning about what else is going on in the world. (internationally or domestically, I don't care)

I mean, you can only watch a train wreck for so long before it isn't interesting anymore.

Do you know who Al Sharpton is?

Oh please tell me about the time he showed up armed with an AR-15 and put himself between the cops and the guy evicted from an apartment for being 20 years in due on his rent.

Pretty please?

Then they need to get a warrant for 'failure to pay' or 'theft of service' or something and throw his ass in jail and throw away the key.

Isn't that pretty much what's actually happening?

I have neither heard on the news or read in the press any mention of a warrant being served... ever! References to court appearances, yes. Warrants... No.

Isn't he that guy that owes like $1.3 Million in back taxes and DIDN'T have his house surrounded by snipers?

What is the death toll up to of Law Enforcement on innocent citizens of color again??
