RonD1120 62 #51 May 12, 2014 DanGQuoteSaddam Husein deposed. End of report. First of all, you claimed we were exacting retaliation for 9/11. Now you're saying we were trying to depose Hussein. Which was it? Secondly, this is your position (as I understand it): 1. Ends justify the means. 2. The US should continue to be the world police, invading every country that has an evil dictator. If so, that's very scary. Both. The end times are scarey.:Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. DanG 1 #52 May 12, 2014 How were we retaliating for 9/11 by invading Iraq? I'm talking about using hindsight here. Do you still believe the invasion of Iraq was justified based on retaliation for 9/11? - Dan G

jakee 1,497 #54 May 12, 2014 RonD1120 You know, it would be nice if, just once, you would actually think about the positions you hold and the sources you quote. Maybe one day, one time, you won't blindly believe a man who has (among other things) previously claimed that McCain collaborated with the VietCong in return for prostitutes and Hillary Clinton had a lesbian affair with a Saudi spy just because he's now saying something you wish to be true. I won't hold my breath though. See, the point I was making earlier is that I don't accept royalty, I'm an abolitionist - but you'll happily bend the knee to anyone who tells you what you want to hear.Do you want to have an ideagasm? kallend 2,027 #55 May 12, 2014 RonD1120********* From the Dailybeast: When I heard that the House of Representatives has established a select committee to investigate the attack on Benghazi that left several Americans dead in 2012, I couldn't help but wonder what these same legislators might have done had Barack Obama been president in 2003, and had the audacity of George W. Bush to attack a sovereign country that had no relevant connection to the 9/11 attacks with the result that nearly 5,000 Americans and well over 100,000 Iraqi civilians (many of them women and children) perished. Had Obama’s war in Iraq also cost American taxpayers $1.7 trillion, with another $490 in veteran expenses (thus far)—with a total cost of $6 trillion projected—I have no doubt that a select committee would long ago have sent him to the Hague for trial as a war criminal. So where is YOUR outrage, Ron, over the THOUSANDS killed in Iraq following an invasion based on lies? You keep bringing that up. I have no outrage. In 2003 the known FABRICATED evidence justified the invasion period. FIFY Do you always make decisions based on hindsight? That is like making a grocery list to go shopping yesterday. Well, if you look at the threads from 2003 prior to the invasion, several of us (myself included) warned that the so-called "evidence" looked and smelled like BS. People like you ignored the warnings because you wanted it to be true. Link to Feb 2003: www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=386328;... Link to Feb 2003: www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=386328; I didn't start posting regularly in SC until my retirement in 2009. I have no reason to go back and read old threads. I am satisfied with the fact that following 9/11 we went into the Mideast and kicked ass. Like I said before, there is Israel and Israel's enemies. Israel's enemies are my enemies. I tried to go back in the military in 1991 and was rejected due to my age. Some of my contemporaries went into contract and other services following the bombing in Beirut. IMO it's all the same war.Look for the shiny things of God revealed by the Holy Spirit. They only last for an instant but it is a Holy Instant. Let your soul absorb them. SH needed to be removed and we did it. The point now is to investigate the BHO administration and their political motivation for the Benghazi murders. quade 4 #66 May 12, 2014 RonD1120We must do what we can for the good of the country. Some people simply do not recognize what is and isn't "good for the country." Be certain you understand what you mean by that phrase. A country, "of the people, by the people, for the people," "and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal" is not just for the benefit of a select few. That said, I hope Hillary doesn't get the nomination for the exact same reason I hope Jeb Bush doesn't get the nomination. Too much power held by too few people. I do not like the idea of the US becoming a de facto dual monarchy and simply switching families back and forth every four to eight years.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
