Last night was more of a police force instigation after some water was thrown.
It's just insane.

If they ever come to the point where they pull the trigger here, how do they think that is going to help anything? Do they have some crazy notion that would de-escalate the problem?

Feds should not respond until the state investigation has determined that civil rights violations have occurred. This is just another Martin/Zimmerman situation. Never let a good crisis go to waste.

I remember the same argument about cops being issued AR-15/M-16 weapons because all they had were six round revolvers.

I hope the county sheriffs obtain full equip. They are, after all, our last line of defense. They are the final legal authority superseding the feds.

Personally I hope this is the straw the will start the de-militarization of cop shops, better training on dealing with humans, significantly less of a jack boot approach of dealing with civilians.
Not everyone needs to be forcibly slammed to the ground or shot dead.

Not directing this at anybody specifically, but I found this an interesting read into the mindset of a cop and that of any potential person that has been pulled over or approached by a cop, knowing they'd done something violent.

Brown was a hulk of a guy, over 6 feet tall and what, 300 pounds? The cop didn't know he had just strong-arm robbed a store, but Brown knew it, and thought he was about to get arrested. How do you think a guy like that would react? Read on...
