What is so evil about requiring id to vote?

Recommended Posts

>that can work in NYC

Exactly. Thus it is unreasonable to come up with a voting requirement that effectively prevents some New Yorkers from voting.

So why don't YOU tell us exactly HOW the GOP's proposals will work to increase the fairness of elections.
By what % will fraud be reduced?
How many fraudulent votes will be prevented in each election cycle?
By what % will disenfranchisement be reduced?
How many people will be disenfranchised?
What is the overall effect on fairness?

As soon as you tell us the same for the second amendment

You over and over have stated that rights are not absolute
You do not care if those wanting to exercise their second amendment rights are disenfranchised because of limits put in place by some bureaucratic rules and processes

So fuck it dude
Your hypocritical stance on rights is out there for all to see

If some poor slob can’t vote because of bureaucratic rules and processes it is no different than other rights. You dont care of one person who is legally alowed to carry cant just so one who should not have a gun is stopped (WAFJ)

You are ok with some poor slob not being able to carry a gun because of government restrictions!!!!

This so called fairness bull shit you post has not a damned thing to do with this

So, you are now called out because you are talking out both sides of your face

Yes you did

Then why are you asking again and again and again? Are you just incredibly forgetful, or are you trying to make it seem like he hasn't answered?

***So you are willing to spend significant money to "solve" a problem which currently does not exist?

I'm applying for a federal grant to implement a program that would prevent monkeys from stealing cars, because, you know, it could possibly be a problem someday.

Good idea.

I've actually sent a few notes to my congressman to tax rich people more so we can fund a program to teach monkeys to drive.

Monkeys need to be able to drive to the polls and vote. And Bill Gates didn't 'earn' that money anyway.

But not manual-transmission cars. Everyone knows that monkeys are naturally shiftless.

you are just undervaluing monkeys and their abilities, it's the quiet hominidaeism and simiformesism of the left trying to make them dependent on you

I know a few shifty monkeys

perhaps we can teach them to pack, or do CrW

How did I buy my guns from Bass Pro? You don't have to be a citizen to buy a firearm.

Did you need a photo ID to buy this gun?

Anecdote <> data. What happens in one shop is an anecdote.

There are 33 states in which anyone (citizen, alien, felon, loony) can go to a gun show and buy a gun at a private (non-licensed) table without an ID.

Maybe they can (and I would like to see your list of states and conditions when this can be done) but, nearly all gun show promoters required licensed dealers at the tables in the show. Indidviduals can sell and trade off the grounds because this is the law

And, as you full well know, very few crimes are commited with guns purchased AT gun shows

Nice stab in the dark though

Maybe they can (and I would like to see your list of states and conditions when this can be done)

17 U.S. states require background checks at gun shows. Seven states require background checks on all gun sales at gun shows: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois, New York, Oregon, and Rhode Island. Four require background checks on all handgun purchases at gun shows: Hawaii, Maryland, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania. Six require individuals to obtain a permit that involves a background check to purchase handguns: Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, and North Carolina. The remaining 33 states do not restrict private, intrastate sales of firearms at gun shows in any manner.

See, I can back up MY claims. You should try doing that sometime.

Yes, ID were a requirement.

I was just going off on the other guy who said he couldn't buy firearm due to not being a citizen.

Ok, I got it
Acutally HI just had a court case that goes along with what you say
The case said the State must issure a permit to purchase to a imigrant who is legally in the state

Cool

more states should NOT restrict the sale of guns by individuals

And of course other laws cover guns shows without specific guns show laws

Pretty much as I expected from you
