billvon 2,991 #1380 September 26, 2023 More a scumbag reporter than a scumbag politician, but it was cool to see FOX's Brian Kilmeade owned by the former Ukranian president Petro Poroshenko. Background: Giuliani went to Ukraine and came back with the shocking (and extremely convenient) story that Joe Biden got Ukraine Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin sacked in order to protect Hunter's company Burisma. It's been extensively disproven, but that hasn't stopped FOX. And this time Kilmeade thought he had a scoop for sure - an exclusive interview with the guy who fired Shokin! Surely the former Ukranian president would know the truth that the Bidens were vile criminals! So he asked Poroshenko about that firing. Kilmeade: Is that why he got fired? Because of the billion dollars and the former vice president, now president? Poroshenko: First of all, this is a completely crazy person. This is something wrong with him. Second, there is not one single word of truth. And third, I hate the idea to make any comments and to make any intervention in the American election. We have very much enjoyed bipartisan support. There was an awkward (and gratifying) pause at that point as Kilmeade tried to figure out how to get out of this sudden hole he found himself in.
billvon 2,991 #1381 September 26, 2023 And another potential scumbag - Derrick Anderson looked like an ideal GOP candidate. Green Beret, tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, law degree from Georgetown, several clerkships. And he says he has roots in Fredericksburg and has lived in Spotsylvania County since 2021, which is where the 7th district is - the one he's running for. No carpetbagging here. Local boy makes good. Except it turns out he doesn't live there. He actually lives in an Alexandria townhouse that he bought for $852,000 in 2021 with a VA loan that is “only available for a primary residence" according to the VA laws on that. But he put down his address on his voting form as an apartment in Fredericksburg. So is he living there? If he is, he's violating the law. Or is he living in Alexandria? If he is, he's committing voter fraud. When asked his campaign just started digging a bigger and bigger hole. According to them, see, there's no requirement to live in the Alexandria house, and he is free to rent it out to other people - in other words, become a landlord with a loan meant for struggling veterans to be able to afford houses. Not a good look, and not even legal. Per the VA, "there must be no indication that the veteran has established, intends to establish, or may be required to establish, a principal residence elsewhere.” All of which actually makes him . . . a pretty ideal GOP candidate, still. If he turns out to have a past of sex abuse, he will check all the boxes.

GOP candidates have to survive the vetting during nomination primaries. Where they have to joke to voters about sexual assault, lie about election fraud, lie about the corruption in Washington, etc. The cream of scum rises to the top.

jakee 1,489 #1385 October 1, 2023 (edited) This one’s almost too horrible to post. At the height of the #metoo movement a Republican politician said he’d previously been been suspended from college over sexual harassment allegations he claimed had been fake - including that at least one woman had feared for her life around him. The right wing culture warriors obviously believed him, and Trump and DeVos used him as the poster child for repealing Obama era guidance, thereby making it harder for sexual assault victims to get justice and protection, and easier for predators to get away with it. He has now been arrested for murdering his girlfriend, dismembering her body and dumping her in a garbage bag on the beach. But I’m sure the MAGA crowd still think he was innocent the first time around. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2023/sep/30/metoo-california-murder-rachel-elizabeth-imani-buckner-joseph-roberts Edited October 1, 2023 by jakee

Coochie-coochie-coochie-coo.” On Mark Milley: he is an "idiot" and an "asshole" On election workers Freeman and Moss: they "were passing around USB ports like they were vials of heroin or cocaine.” (He lost that one.) I am thinking this is a Hail Mary because he's broke and desperate, and maybe Biden will pay him to make him go away.

And you know what a stickler for the truth Rudy is. Fun fact: Biden didn't call Giuliani an 'operative'. He called him a PAWN. Very different thing. An 'operative' implies that Giuliani knew he was being used and was actively working for Russia. A 'pawn' implies that Giuliani was being used, likely without his knowledge. They are also sometimes called 'dupes'. A good example of a 'pawn' or 'dupe' is the two women who killed Kim Jong-nam, half brother to DPRK's Kim Jong Un. They were told that they were going to participate in a prank for a TV show, when in reality, they used VX nerve agent to kill KJn. Rudy was following Trump's orders. I don't think he's aware enough anymore to fully understand the implication of those orders. He was doing work that clearly benefited Russia. And Putin. Oblivious to the reality that those orders came to Trump from Putin. Rudy just had his nose so far up Trump's ass that he had no clue what he was doing. He'll likely name Hunter and Hillary next. After sufficient funds have been raised he'll drop it all.

billvon 2,991 #1395 October 8, 2023 In New Jersey, republican Joseph Viso is running for the state assembly. He's a classy guy. Back in 2009, when a child care center complained to the police about Viso's trucks illegally parking outside their building, he got them back in the traditional republican way - by smearing feces all over their door handles. Seems like smearing feces - on the Capitol floors, on the walls, on child care centers - is becoming a fairly standard way for republicans to indicate their displeasure. Us more boring types just vote.

ryoder 1,590 #1397 October 9, 2023 But, but we had to hide it! It made us look bad! Desantis Loses Lawsuit for Hiding Covid Data Two years ago, the State of Florida was sued after the Florida Department of Health refused to continue to post data on covid to their public dashboard under orders from Governor Desantis. They just lose the case, will now begin to publish the data again to the public, and have to pay out $152,500 in legal fees to opposing attorneys. However, a decent developed nation educates its children and young people to the full extent they can benefit regardless of their ability to pay. In turn, those educated citizens pay forward to the next generation. But that doesn't suit those who depend on the votes of the poorly educated.
