"Sheriff Joe's case against amnesty on fast track"

Recommended Posts

Any predictions?

Quote

A federal appeals court has ordered an expedited schedule for a case brought by Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio against President Obama over his amnesty program that is being implemented even as the case progresses.

The order released Wednesday by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit said the brief for the appellants is due Jan. 29, and the government’s brief in defense of amnesty will be due March 2.

“Due to the expedited nature of this case, the court will not entertain dispositive motions. The parties should therefore address in their briefs any arguments otherwise properly raised in such motions,” said the order.

I don't usually make predictions but I see the Sheriff winning this one. The 'president' acted illegally and how his law can be enforced is beyond me. Obama acted outside the bounds of his position as president. I hate to inform him but he is a president of a democracy... not some kind of monarch. I believe Sheriff Arpaio is right. We'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

Hearing what Arpaio is saying, is what I hear from Border Patrol Agents. The idea of 'let 'em all in', is bull-shit. I see nothing wrong with being selective in who we let into this country. I hope the sheriff wins this one!!

Arpraio has his won set of concerns that he will have to address yet or probably go to jail. I always like lawmen that have so little respect of the precess of law.

Appears to be political bs. Which you approve I will assume

Because, you know, Sheriff Joe's opinion is about as important as Sheriff John's when it comes to national matters.

F that guy. He's an idiot.

contempt of court is not a political motivation. Contempt is usually exactly what it is. Judges decide on contempt of court charges generally, not politicians.

You think that is political bullshit? I think a sheriff that has no respect for the law is equally political bullshit. If his case and his arguments are so fucking solid and obviously the correct thing to do, then he should run for office and change the laws.

Oh Wait, the governor already tried that, and then lost in the courts. Seemingly you yourself have little respect for the separation of powers and the design of the system that you staunchly claim to uphold as a patriotic American. Apparently only if everything falls line with your own political ideals I guess. Just like Arpraio.

Until such time as the laws or the court rulings change, he is expected to uphold them. When he fails to do that after direct orders from multiple judges on multiple court platforms, then that is called contempt. There is a forum for him to file his grievances, which he is doing through the courts already. good for him.

That does not preclude him from obeying the system. Sadly he is an arrogant fucking prick who thinks that he is better than the law, as do so many in powerful political positions.

your 'unconstitutional' is another mans 'taking action'

Go ahead, call for impeachment.....let me know how that works out for you. Go ahead, sue the president in federal court......there surely are enopugh people behind you to fund it.

Let me know how that works out. The problem with people screaming 'unconstitutional' when there are no proceedings and lawsuits behind it is just that - it has no balls. If the president could have been impeached, then he would have been already - BENGHAZI BENGHAZI BENGHAZI....enough already.

Arpraio is doing just that. He is taking the case to court, as he should. He will lose. He does not even have the backing of the GOP who clamor as you do for impeachment. Get over it already.

And now he is up on contempt charges, as he should be. those are real charges, not allegations. real charges. unlike all the 'unconstitutional' bullshit rhetoric that continues to swirl in light of the President's OBVIOUS success at turning so much of the country around over the past 6 years from the previous shitstorm.

So yes, in light of the other choices we had, and the previous administration and despite the fact that I did not actually vote for Obama, i am still reasonably pleased with the outcome over the past 6 years.

You still get up in the morning, go to work, eat three squares a day, pay your mortgage drive a car, get health care.....yep your life is a complete fucking disaster since BHO got into office...I have no idea how you managed all this time..... what a train wreck your life and the country must be......poor poor pitiful you.

Just for fun, read a few of these links
Quite a spread which may, just maybe, put a little context into your rant

In any event
The ileagal moves by this President will be heard by a court (regarding his imigration bull shit) and it is being fast tracked for a reason

nice distraction. You are making the claims of unconstitutionality. It is your job to then substantiate them. I simply asked you to do so.

but sure, go ahead and attack the poster with 'temper tantrum'. I guess that is fair since I basically called you a whiny bitch with no evidence to back your claim.

And like I said, you may care about things other than yourself. Pretty arrogant of you to think the rest of us perhaps do not, or just because we disagree, we must obviously be wrong. There is a process for your grievances. I simply pointed that out to you. Go ahead and follow up on it.

I am not the one with anger. Like I said, things are pretty fucking good compared to Jan 2009. I make no claim that things are awful. i make no claim of unconstitutionality. I make no claim that someone needs to go to jail for Benghazi. i make no claim that life is terrible.

The only anger that i have is towards rhetoric-hate-filled people that continue to claim that this is not actually so. And do so without providing anything other than their own personal 'great-American-patriotic-feelings'.

But of course, this is America and you are entitled to your unsubstantiated opinion.

Yet of course the previous administration's illegal use of torture is quickly dismissed.

Pretty selective with when you want to laws followed....

FWIW, I find the use of torture to be appalling and a national embarrassment.

Unfortunately, the current administration seems hell-bent on outdoing the previous one for managerial mediocrity.

They both suck, and nothing on the horizon looks like an improvement.

During the last go around, the Mormon at least had a track record of taking struggling organizations and rendering them profitable. In the long term, that may be the key to our national survival - but I suspect it's too late for it to make much of a difference.

What little I know of Sheriff Joe suggests that he is a scary idiot.

We also have a current President and his political party with a tract record of taking an economy on the edge of collapse and turning it around. Does he have flaws and has he made mistakes? No doubt.

I think we can get by a bit longer without batshit crazy Mormons.

Diddn't the president himself, the head of INS, or the AG tell the sheriff they were not going to enforce the law? Its something I remember being said in reference to the sheriff rounding up ILLEGALS, and trying to get them deported.

The perception of the current party's track record is not particularly valid; doing a rain dance when a tropical depression is about to hit does not make one a rainmaker.

Presiding over bubbles that make the tulip craze look well-reasoned does not constitute turning much of anything around.

The Mormon thing concerns me. It's roughly on a par with Scientology, and sets the bullshit meter off at twenty paces.

The incumbent speaks glowingly of Islam, which I find as appealing as the people who look at the '30s in Germany as the good old days. My copy of the Koran is right next to my copy of 'Mein Kampf,' and it is hard to tell which is the more execrable read.

It's like the dated joke,

Q: What's the difference between a Spice Girls video and a porn flick?

A: The porn flick has a better sound track.

Note that I'm not calling him a Muslim, but can quote him speaking well of Islam.

Anyhow, the best any recent president has done is to briefly bring expenditures in line with income (hooray!), but the tendency is to spend money in a fashion that would embarrass a drunken sailor. When drunken sailors run out of money, they quit spending, but we have indebted ourselves way beyond the tipping point.

Again, it was fun while it lasted.

BSBD,

Winsor

If anyone on here is a fan of Sheriff Joe Arpaio, remember that he has repeatedly violated peoples civil and Constitutional rights. He is an absolute dirtbag...

Ya. For arresting illegals. Such a dirt bag

Oh. And for standing up to a DOJ dirt bag

EVERYONE is standing up against the DOJ. Are you kidding me? Like he's the only one? lol Thats a joke. Senators all over the country are going after Eric Holder.

Arresting illegals, good stuff Im all for it. Racial profiling and harassment of hispanic US Citizens is not okay, not to mention violating their Constitutional Rights.

His "tough" stance on prisoners is admirable. That is until you READ about what he's done to abuse PRE-TRIAL detainees (People who haven't gone to court and been proven guilty, therefore innocent). Innocent people forced to live in tent city and fed rotten and spoiled food.

How about HIS targeting of officials to further pursue his political agenda. Judges, Jury and lawyers included. Add this with the investigation into him concerning tens of millions of dollars misused and unaccounted for.

Wow, so much more than the good things you've heard about "Tough Joe."I love your signature line with Abraham Lincoln. Funny how in a way Sheriff Joe Arpaio is taking away freedoms and rights from within.

But then again,
Hes arresting illegals and standing up to the DOJ right?

Go figure...
