This article is so bent it needs a body shop. Sounds like it's one AP history course. From the link...(bolding is mine)

Um, yeah. It is one course, it is called Advanced Placement History. AP courses are counted as college credit at many universities. The state is saying that its students can't take a class that will help them in college because it isn't Conservative enough. Way to go.

No, they are saying that it paints the US in a bad light.

It doesn't adequately (note that I don't say "accurately) showcase the "exceptionalism" of the US.

You know, slavery, genocide of the indians, corporate abuses, that sort of thing.

I'm not sure that would be a "conservative" thing.

More of an "idiot" thing.
Although the vote was a straight party line vote. And the conservatives were the ones voting for it.

They are blocking all current AP US history courses in Oklahoma. No exceptions. From the bill:

"Schools; directing the State Board of Education to adopt a certain United States History program and assessment; prohibiting the expenditure of funds on the Advanced Placement United States History course; effective date; emergency."

I predict they will maintain their hissy fit until the history in the course is replaced with the propaganda that fits the correct conservative agenda. Some of the approved material that is specifically listed in the bill to replace the current content:

The sermon known as "A Model of Christian Charity" by John Winthrop,
The sermon known as "Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God" by Jonathan Edwards
The Ten Commandments
The surrender speech made by Chief Joseph
The Cross of Gold speech made by William Jennings Bryan

But that's not all. Sure, they banned AP history, but if schools buckle and implement the above material, they get some sweet kickbacks! From the bill:

"Additional grants to school sites demonstrating successful implementation, as defined by the State Board of Education, of the courses for which the first grants were awarded."
