rushmc 23 #326 September 6, 2015 normissNot in any way. I'd gladly sign off on her and her next inbred husband's marriage license without any concern whatsoever. Some people's obsession with what others do with their hearts and genitals is deeply troubling to me. You're more than welcome to believe in the Easter bunny religion for all I care. Right up until you use that stooped rabbit to block fellow citizens from their constitutional rights. That. Is retarded. Illegal Unconstitutional Just keep pushing your beliefs It is what you and yours does"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." You believe an elected official should be able to use their office to to protest something that goes against their church? I wonder whT you would say if you went to get a marriage license, and the clerk was gay and tefusee to give out any licenses if it wasn't for a same sex couple.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

This situation was created by a court not a legislative body. No marriage license is a right To date there is no LAW recognizing gay marriage Those that push this push a private businesses baking cakes which force people to disregard their beliefs That said the ruling (there is no law) should be followed"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." Gay marriage is as legal as straight marriage. Like it or not that is the law of your country. You do believe in the law and your country don't you?Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free. Coreeece 2 #343 September 7, 2015 wolfriverjoe*** ...Indeed. Just as she is free to express her opinions. But she isn't free to refuse to carry out her legal responsibilities, just as I would not be if I had her position. See? That's the equivalancy. Not the PC nonsense you're saying. I'd love to see the reaction from all of Davis' defenders if, say, a Muslim DMV employee refused to give Driver's Licenses to women because it was "against his religion." I'd probably mumble something under my breath like, "fucking muslims," and then find another clerk...but then again, I'm not a woman... ...but if I were, I'd probably get all sensitive and make a big deal out of it...Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
champu 1 #344 September 7, 2015 rushmcThis situation was created by a court not a legislative body. Uh... I don't think you want to make a general argument that courts should not be able to tell legislatures to go pound dirt when they need to be told to go pound dirt. That said, what impass in the sequence of events surrounding gay marriage do you consider to be "this situation"? The reason I ask is because in many jurisdictions the existing laws governing recognized marriages were written with language that didn't preclude a gay couple being married. In some of those jurisdictions gay people just... went ahead and got married. I don't think that qualified as a "situation." A lot has happened since then, help me out. No, this situation was created by her refusing to carry out the obligations of the office that she chose to hold. She is the county clerk. By definition a clerical, administrative office. She does not have the right to use that office as a bully pulpit to force her beliefs on every other resident of the county. Anyone who doesn't understand that is as stupid as she is bigoted.Do you want to have an ideagasm?
