******There are cases of people using AR15's for self defense, that doesn't speak to how that's a preferable weapon to a hand gun. My friends who are hard core 2A all say they would never go for the AR over a handgun in a home defense situation.

In the highly unlikely event that I ever feel the need of a firearm for home defense, it will be a 12 gauge shotgun.

Couldn't agree more. You don't have to aim particularly accurately, there's less chance of ammunition overpenetrating and, in the case of a pump action, just the sound of racking the slide attracts people's undivided attention.

Everyone is forgetting the real reason to use a shotgun for home defense. It precludes surgeons success in sewing up the chest cavity. I precludes the intruder testifying that he had surrendered, was merely asking for directions, etc. when he was shot.

The approved right-wing story is that these kids are hapless, ignorant victims of an evil media telling them what to say; without that evil influence they would have been fine with the deaths of their friends and would already have gotten over it. Carlee Soto, who lost her sister in the shooting, is a "crisis actor" who goes to all shootings and is paid to cry on camera - including at Sandy Hook and Florida.

A rep out of GOP congressman Shawn Harrison's office said that all the survivors were actually actors “that travel to various crisis when they happen."

Leslie Gibson, a Maine republican candidate for the House, attacked Emma Gonzalez, a woman who survived the Florida shooting - he said there was “nothing about this skinhead lesbian” that impressed him. He also said David Hogg, another survivor, was a "bald-faced liar."

Conservative media talking head David Clarke had this to say: "The well ORGANIZED effort by Florida school students demanding gun control has GEORGE SOROS’ FINGERPRINTS all over it. It is similar to how he hijacked and exploited black people’s emotion regarding police use of force incidents into the COP HATING Black Lives Matter movement."

If there is a bright spot to all of this, it's that the victims are taking it well. Emma Gonzales had this to say about all the attacks on them -

“It’s actually really funny to us, last night we kept showing the pictures to each other of the actors that we’re supposed to be and could not stop laughing — it was nice, we haven’t had such a good laugh in what feels like years. It just shows how weak the other side’s argument is, like they have to attack the messengers since the message is airtight. Also I’m thankful that there are people out there finding my doppelgänger for me, always wanted to have a party with a room full of people who look like me.”
