It must be hard for you. Trying to argue with a man who knows words and uses them correctly. It just seems so unfair to subject your "logic" to such scrutiny.

These aren't complicated words, or logic. Bill lied. Half the country can't legally purchase a gun without a 4473 check. No kid under 21 can legally do it for hand guns anywhere. He didn't do it by mistake, or ignorance. He doesn't want to admit it, nor do you or Skydekker. He had a chance to take it back, but instead tried to double down. He then tried to tie me to fear of sharia or gay marriage, which is pathetic. (I live in San Francisco, graduated from Berkeley)

It's right out of Trump's book. Deflect, attack, admit no error. You guys give Rush shit for this sort of thing all the time. Be honest and admit to the same.

All the postings here have limited impact on wingloading BSRs....do you really think it has > 0.00000% impact on legislative policy? Or will save lives? This is a circle jerk, nothing more. Contacting your representatives, and most importantly voting is what matters. The gun opposition openly acknowledges that it's not the NRA money that gives them power, it's their voting members. Though maybe it jumped the shark in selecting Ollie North as its new lead.

A key benefit (one of the few) of the Trump election is that the 2nd amendment will remain secure for decades longer. HC could have threatened that. I'm not thrilled with the likelihood we'll regress on gay rights, but it's the one silver lining.

Now that's interesting. No erosion of your gun rights is preferable to the preservation of another American citizen's human rights. You don't mean that, right?

It's illegal to purchase a handgun in a state that isn't the state you reside in. This is not new. It must go from an FFL holder in the state it was purchased in to an FFL holder in the state of residence.

The concept that someone can go from a state with strict laws (say California or New York City, New York) to one with lax laws and legally purchase a handgun is false. That doesn't mean that it can't be done, but it's illegal.

Long guns (rifles and shotguns) have slightly different rules, but for it to cross state lines legally, it has to go through an FFL holder.

So since some states have the requirement to do checks on all purchases, I am a filthy liar. I am also informed that such laws are unenforceable, and I am a fool for thinking they are.

I am fine with admitting that in those cases you mention it can't legally be done. However, it can very easily be done with absolutely next to no risk of getting caught.

It also isn't complicated logic that the ease of acquiring firearms has a negative influence on the use of firearms in crimes. But you and hooknswoop and many others are absolutely unwilling to accept such simple logic.

You know that anyone, let along a high school kid, can't walk into a gun show, find a private seller, and walk out with a gun. No one escapes the background check or the 10 day waiting period in California. The gun shop loophole has always been a red herring, but much more so when we're talking about K-12 school shootings.

one thing that might give you hope is the fact that this ruling was just from a few of the conservatives on that 9th Circuit Court. When they bring them all together it will be overturned and you will be ecstatic. It will end up in the Supreme Court where once again you will be disappointed.

That's the great thing about the election we just had. The judges that Trump is putting on the courts. We now have a chance for the Constitution to live without modification from activist judges.

Sunday evening (2018, July 22) a lone gun man shot at pedestrians and restaurant patrons along Toronto’s Danforth Avenue, killing two and wounding another 13. When police arrived, they exchanged gunfire with the suspect. He was found dead, a short distance down Danforth Avenue. It is not clear if the shooter was as felled by a police bullet or he committed suicide. The shooter’s family made a public statement about his depression and psychosis. Police are trying to determine how he obtained a (restricted) hand gun.

I live close to the area where the UMWA was formed. When government sanctioned strike breakers and Pinkertons arrived to put people in their places they found a well armed citizenry ready for them. Otherwise, coal miners would have never been allowed to unionize and make a decent living for themselves and their families.

Nope as the Supreme Court has already ruled that the 2nd Amendment references the the individual not an organized militia.

You need only read the Federalist Papers to understand the full meaning and intent.
