I know, I said heterosexual...

Oh yeah, sorry I missed that. I guess I must have gay sex on the brain.

I brought it up to illustrate that's it not necessarily about the people that are requesting a particular service, but rather the service itself that I do not provide.

But combined with your later scenario it illustrates the polar opposite. Filming porn is a service you wouldn't offer to anyone. Filming weddings is a service you'd offer to straights but not gays.
Do you want to have an ideagasm?

Which is probably why the law needs to change to protect people from being sued and/or thrown in jail by bigoted people that are intolerant of others religious beliefs.

the law has been changed. It was changed SPECIFICALLY in favor of gay marriage, therefore you cannot discriminate anymore based on that.

However religion and their rights are GENERALLY defined in the Constitution and no SPECIFIC religious belief is defined nor supported by the SCOTUS or by the Constitution.

Therefore the constitution trumps your specific religious belief.

If you cannot tolerate a country where the laws trump religion, hen try Iran or Afghanistan....might be more to your liking.

I believe that a gay marriage is accepted and legal now.
I didn't see anything in the SC decision that forbade a videographer from not videoing their weddings.

So if a local pharmacy refused to fill prescriptions for any woman who wasn't wearing a burqa (Sharia Law requires it) you'd be OK with that? How about pharmacies that refuse to provide BiDil, because it's used for black men, and the pharmacist does not believe that black men should be treated for heart disease?

I simply do not provide gay services

There's nothing gay about hitting the record button and aiming the camera.

No one is asking you to provide gay services. They are asking you to provide wedding photography services.

no it may not be 'specific enough', but it will be soon enough if needed.

We gave blacks the right to vote and then continued to discriminate specifically based on the color of their skin until laws were based addressing those issues. Voting Rights act and such.

Eventually it will be specifically addressed. We already cannot discriminate based on sex, religion, color, race, etc etc, etc, all issues that were in the Constitution or came out of SCOTUS decisions.

It is pretty naive to assume that you can continue to discriminate against something that the Supreme Court, overseeing the Supreme law of the land, has ruled on. If you do that, you are just being a dick.

The Constitution nor the Supreme Court has ruled on whether or not you can take a piss in the morning either. But for me to take action in the form of discrimination against you for taking a piss in the morning would indeed make me a 'dick' as well.

If I tried to block your voting rights based on my religious beliefs, you would tell me to fuck off.

White Supremacists still want to discriminate against blacks. they also back up their argument using religion and specifically the Bible in a lot of cases. When they do that, everyone tells them to fuck off.

the USA needs to get over this one. completely. Get over it.

If it is a religious belief, then there are many other pharmacies.

I wonder, what happens when one lies about their preference. Comically I think of a movie where two firemen cheat the system lying about being gay.

I suppose that would be easier than lying about your race.

Or would it?

Seems that Volkswagon's fraudulent emissions results were only caught on account of vigilance by the evil EPA and environmentalists.

No wonder the GOP wants to eliminate the EPA. Definitely bad for profits.

Your rhetoric is amazing.
You do Know a university working on a 50K budget found the VW Deception, the epa was simply notified.
and How will the profits of VW be doing in the Future?

Do you realize BMWs',MBZs',and VW's are non- complaint in CA and have been since the1994.

That is correct all BMW,MBZ, VW are illegally sold in state of CA.

OBD 2 the most basic system/ laws for our cars today, consists of a under dash plug-in, check engine light combo.
A simple system, where check engine light comes on,plug the standardized plug, and read standardized codes, repair the standardized system, with standard parts.

A great law that allows us to be responsible for our cars and the environment.Giving us freedom, knowledge and Choice.

That whole concept been CORRUPTED, again by big Gov't.
Our C.A.R.B.officials allow the Manufactures to break the Law,if they...
"PAY THE FINES"
Tens of Millions.Every year.I'd call it Bribery,others a fine.
Is it for the Tax payers or the environment?
hell no,it validate the California Air Regulatory Board policies, ironic aint it.
Officials,politically appointed,tax payer funded,serving its' own interests.

You see the California Air Regulatory Board and the epa allowed VW to retain their propriety advantage, and at who's cost?
The consumer.
Well you bought it,you payed. But it ain't over yet, when that pesky check Engine light comes on, what'll most people do?
Nothing, because they know the options are limited and the price non competitive.
The price on the environment ? I'll let you decide.

Something I find funny. I own an '03 Toyota Tundra and the check engine light keeps coming on, an EVAP sensor somewhere. I was told to put a piece of black tape over the light. There are no emission control laws in Georgia. :D

I don't know about you but I graduated from driving a POS back around high school.

You also do not have a large population that cares about being able to breathe.
You also do not have a 10000 ft high range of mountains that does a good job of blocking the shit from just blowing further to the EAST... due to the prevailing winds...
You are trying to compare Prunus persica to Opuntia littoralis

Seriously though... I think once upon a time you went to third world shitholes.... remember the aroma in the air of cities there???

Most places in the US of A have far more breathable air and less disease than many of the places I was sent to.

Is it now a conservative desire to return to the air and diseased state of the environment, the food safety of the day and the non existent labor laws found back in the 1800's??

That is simply not true. Georgia has laws in place. And there are federal laws that apply also. The Atlanta metro area requires annual emissions tests.

Your situation is that in your part of Georgia, there is no emissions testing.

And the "black tape" fix is stupid. Evap issues are usually a disconnected or broken hose in the tank vent system. Simple and cheap to fix.

But bad mechanics will tell ignorant owners that the Evap system is part of that "Stupid pollution control" and that "you don't need to worry about it."

So when something serious goes wrong, the CEL is already on, but covered in black tape. So you don't know about it until something serious goes wrong (like the car dies on the side of the road or the engine blows up).

So government passes a law requiring OBD II and Volkswagen violates that law for profit. And your conclusion is that Big Government has corrupted the process.

Fines are common penalties for everything from parking tickets to speeding tickets to zoning violations to environmental violations to fraud. BP was fined $4 billion for its recent oil spill, for example. Do you believe that all those fines are an example of bribery?

Pfft...

Taking anything I say (or anyone else says) as "gospel" is pretty stupid.

Think critically, exercise "healthy skepticism", do your own research.

For example, search "Check Engine Evap System".

Or "Georgia Emissions Rules".

Draw your own conclusions.

Unfortunately, those skills are few and far between.

Jumping to conclusions based on preconceived ideas, prejudices and just plain ignorance is far too common.

Something else I found amusing up here, I mentioned to a Vietnam vet buddy and retired GA State Trooper that there seems to be an above average number of vehicles operating with one headlight. He replied, the reason is that state vehicle inspections have been discontinued. They are discriminatory to blacks. Go figure.

Ummm....

Does your buddy know that the cops can pull a car over for having a headlight out?
Really, they can. It's an equipment code violation.

And I don't see any requirement for a safety inspection at all in GA. Emissions testing in some places, but that's it.

Some states require an annual safety inspection, some don't.

Bullshit

Ron, who recently explained that he is afraid of black people has a racist ex-cop friend who said so. What more proof do you need?
Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
