WTF is wrong with American police?

Recommended Posts

I know the officer could have exercised better judgment, but I think the whole situation is kind of awesome.

Here is little miss badass being disrespectful and showing everyone how tough she is because nobody gonna be tellin her what to do, then, SURPRISE! Instant attitude adjustment.

She probably didn't have a good contingency plan for that type of reaction to her little show off stunt:P

There is also, as always, a silver lining. Every kid in that classroom most likely made a decision right then and there that they were going to behave in class from now on.

I mean, was the girl innocent? No, she wasn't. Was the officer innocent? No, he was guilty of one of the sickest take downs ever unleashed on an unruly teenB|

One of my sisters was, is, pretty large and had an attitude of a bitch from hell.

The best way I've heard a cop describe trying to control and take down an angry woman is, "it's like trying to throw a cat in a bathtub, and it's never pretty".

I don't like this, by what does the cop and school so?

So do they let this kid challenge their orders, ignore them, and remain in class distracting the other students?

Is the officer supposed to turn around and leave after she won't get out of the desk on her own?

It happened to my 9th grade math teacher a guy kept being an ass to her in class and she wrote him up. The next day they found sugar in her gas tank and video evidence of that same guy doing from a security camera across the street of her house.

And things like that never happened when we were young. All the kids were just like Wally and the Beav back then.:S

Keep using that selective memory. Incidents like I suggested you google did not happen at the severity and frequency as they do now.

Since the dawn of recorded history, each generation has bitched about how the kids these days got no respect.

Google that.

The 2 grown men in the room could have easily lifted the desk and placed her in the hall.
Given the cop got almost a full flip followed by a toss across the room, it seems it wouldn't have taken much effort.
It was only a skinny kid.

Yes if the child was holding still they could have lifted the desk and put her in the hall.

A child struggling with them is another story. She wouldn't be removed from the desk, and I doubt she would just be compliant if they just moved her and the desk either.

For skycop or any other police officer here -

The policeman arrested the girl. What law would she have broken?

After she refused to move, I'm guessing he would use something like 'refusing a lawful order'. When he got physical and she didn't acquiesce, I guess he could use 'resisting'.

But my question goes to the actions prior. On what grounds, federal, state, or municipal, does he even attend this incident? Is 'disobeying the teacher' a felony?

Thanks.

Of course they did. You just couldn't Google them.

I would LOVE to see any of the supposed adults in this threads reaction should their little prince or princess be treated in a similar manner.

Lawsuits be a flyin all up in here me thinks:D

Yes, then she "falls" while they are carrying her out and boom, lawsuit.
Or she assaults a police officer, he now has an obligation to arrest her. But boom, law suit.
When does this girl get to take any responsibility?

Are we so fucked up as a people here that the young woman that made all of this possible is held completely harmless in this matter?

How are rules supposed to be enforced in a situation like this? If the teaches forcibly removes her, lawsuit; if the school admin forcibly removes her, lawsuit; if the cops forcibly remove her, lawsuit . . . Sounds to me like some changes need to be made so that the faculty can enforce the rules more effectively.

Well she hit him in the body once and the neck once so at least battery of a police officer.

As far as her hitting the officer... I'm 60, fighting medical issues, weaker than shit, and those blows from her would hardly have bothered me. Good lord, if that is justification for throwing a girl across a room, well, I have nothing to say.

My guess would be "disturbing the peace".

If my little Johnny ever acted like that, where a cop had to remove him from the room, the cops would be the least of his worries.................

This.

This is what all parents need to be. Train their kids to listen and obey authority, or else. If my kids chose "or else" in school, they're in bigger shit at home because they would have made ME look bad.

If that girl would have listened and obeyed in the first place, and still had a gripe, then she can have her parent/guardian raise the issue with the school after.
