Most politicians make less than most engineers, for example. (Ask your local state representative, or deputy DA, what he makes.) The ones we see often are the famous ones - US senators, presidential candidates and the like. Fame generally equates to money in the US. But it's the fame that gets them the money, not the fact that they have a government job as an elected representative. Not entirely. They tend to do really good at picking stocks. Again, you are looking at the top .1% of politicians in the US - the House of Representatives. (See below.) Do the same analysis on your state senate, or your city's elected officials, and see if it still holds. You'd see similar levels of wealth and success if you looked at Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Tom Hanks etc. But if you concluded "therefore all actors are rich" you'd be drawing the wrong conclusion. ========= Members of Congress Get Abnormally High Returns From Their Stocks 05/24/2011 03:58 pm ET | Updated Jul 24, 2011 Dan Froomkin Senior Writer, The Intercept Members of the House of Representatives considerably outperform the stock market in their personal investments, according to a new academic study. ========

Disturbing the peace Funny thing is, if these were tea party members going to Hillary's rallies, you all would be screaming that they be arrested Hillary supporters would blame the protesters, not Hillary Fact is, close to 100% of political violence seen in this country over that past 5 years are leftist Democrat supporters So You were saying?"America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves." DanG 1 #435 March 15, 2016 QuoteDisturbing the peace Peace? At a rally where ten of thousands of people are yelling and cheering? DTP is a law in search of a crime. Once they are asked to leave, then they could be arrested for trespassing if they don't comply. DTP is bullshit. QuoteFunny thing is, if these were tea party members going to Hillary's rallies, you all would be screaming that they be arrested Huh. I though you really hated it when people 'read your mind'. I guess it is okay when you do it to others. And, for the record, I don't think protesters should ever be arrested with disturbing the peace. That would be anti-American. QuoteHillary supporters would blame the protesters, not Hillary If Hillary suggested that her protesters were beaten up, and offered to pay legal fees for beating her protesters, I'm pretty sure Hillary supporters would be appalled. All of the candidates have had protesters. None have advocated having them beaten or arrested. None except Trump. QuoteFact is, close to 100% of political violence seen in this country over that past 5 years are leftist Democrat supporters Nice made up fact. All quotes directly from Trump: "I want to punch a protester in the face." " . . . The audience hit back. And that's what we need a little bit more of." "Get him out. Try not to hurt him. If you do, I’ll defend you in court.” "I’d like to punch him in the face, I'll tell you." "In the good ol’ days, they’d have knocked him out of his seat so fast." "I love the old days, you know what they used to do to guys like that when they were in a place like this? They'd be carried out in a stretcher, folks. Oh, it's true." "So if you see somebody getting ready to throw a tomato, knock the crap out of 'em, would you? Seriously. Okay? Just knock the hell — I promise you, I will pay for the legal fees. I promise. I promise." Will he pay legal fees for the man who sucker punched protester? "I've actually instructed my people to look into it, yes."
