rehmwa 2 #2081 November 9, 2016 ryoder***Just woke up. Unreal, it is happening right now. He win florida, and close to 270 And if the Gary Johnson voters in FL had gone with Clinton, she would have won. and the blame goes on Clinton, not the voters - lots of reasons, but two are forefront IMO, YMMV 1 - excessively negative campaigning turns off independents and millennials - back campaign SOP 2 - the ACA costs skyrocketing - can't be helped, this is policy both parties are broken, the way the media only shows the negative campaigning and not the positive campaigning is broken, the sheer extent of negative campaigning is broken we got a guy that the Reps won't like with a starting goal of a LOT of spending that feels like Obama's "Stimulus" package. We got a guy that the dems could have beat easily except for the one person they were forced to back. We had a campaign that essentially dehumanized any opposing discussion instead of facilitated open discussion (no, not just one party, admit it). if both the dems and reps don't admit they are broken and fix it, we'll keep getting caricature outsiders gaining popularity you don't win by dehumanizing the other guy - even if your fanatical followers are mean spirited enough to applaud - and even if the near term election is won on this tactic, society loses. you win by selling your philosophy to those in middle. this entire campaign was essentially a speaker's corner thread ... He win florida, and close to 270 And if the Gary Johnson voters in FL had gone with Clinton, she would have won. and the blame goes on Clinton, not the voters Part of blame goes on the GOP for spending 3 years focusing on bashing Clinton because she was the most likely Dem nominee for 2016. Isn't it strange how she left office Feb 1 2013 with a 56% favorable / 35% unfavorable rating, and her numbers have nose-dived in the years since while she held no office? http://elections.huffingtonpost.com/pollster/hillary-clinton-favorable-rating And the other part of the blame goes on the DNC for holding a coronation designed to annoit the presumptive nominee, instead of a primary with all candidates on a level playing field."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Agreed. Sanders would have had a much better chance. At least according to poll numbers and we have seen what those are worth...

rehmwa 2 #2085 November 9, 2016 jakeeQuoteyou don't win by dehumanizing the other guy So how come Trump won then? I know that's a flip comment - however because the Hillary campaign was much better at it than the Trump campaign was - maybe more likely is that this tactic is recognized as the standard political strategy and the 'insider' got hit harder as a result If one were to only watch political ads that were for a candidate rather than against a candidate we'd have gone to the polls with zero information. blame the media presentation, or the parties themselves or both, but that's the SOP lately the 60 Minutes focus group piece was spot on if anyone saw it ... Quotebecause the Hillary campaign was much better at it than the Trump campaign was Are you kidding me? What was Hillary's equivalent of the "Crooked" salutation he used every time he spoke her name? What was Hillary's equivalent of the "lock her up" chant he led at most of his rallies? What was the DNC's equivalent of the Rep's endless senate probe into an email server? Did you see the graph that's been posted a few times showing the decline of Hillary's Favourable ratings since she left her Government post 3 years ago? Character assassination was the second mainstay of Trump's entire campaign (the first one being "Great!"), and it clearly did work.Do you want to have an ideagasm? It's really that simple......(or if the media had shown more of hers like this rather than just ratings boosting bashfests......either way) http://www.nbcnews.com/video/watch-hillary-clinton-s-full-concession-speech-804768835868 worth a listen, she did good ... TriGirl 318 #2091 November 10, 2016 From another NY Post article, regarding the electoral college: Quote The Founding Fathers created the Electoral College because they were actually “afraid of direct democracy,” according to FactCheck.org. (yeah, we knew this.) But the next paragraphs is truly funny... Quote In fact, Alexander Hamilton thought the electors would make sure that “the office of president will never fall to the lot of any man who is not in an eminent degree endowed with the requisite qualifications.” And again, evidence that the founding fathers really could never have predicted the people we as Americans would become. TriGirl 318 #2093 November 10, 2016 IagoI wonder if all the absentee ballots have been counted. WI, MI, and PA are all pretty close states. Unlikely that HRC could pick up 70k votes to flip PA, but possible? It's the 120k votes to flip FL I'd like to see! Although absentee ballots in Florida now only get counted if they arrive by election day (not postmarked by, as was in the past). I know a LOT of military personnel who changed their residency to Florida when stationed there, so those election officials must be incredibly busy counting all the absentee ballots each election year!See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!
