Obama's legacy

But per normal, the gov causes a problem and then says it has to fix the problem. It is a joke. They broke it to start with and now they want to "fix" something again? No thanks.

You forgot the part where every "fix" involves giving the government more power. :)

"Our children face the possibility of death or serious long-term adverse effects from mandated vaccines that aren’t necessary or that have very limited benefits," said Jane M. Orient, MD, AAPS Executive Director.

Yes
Not forgotten, just not mentioned in the post.

>Are you referring to the same average American who elected Trump?

The average American voted for Clinton, actually. The average electoral college member elected Trump.

As intended.

Remember, the US is NOT a democracy. It is a Republic.

BIG DIFFERENCE!!!

From Wikipedia:

=============
Association of American Physicians and Surgeons
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Association of American Physicians and Surgeons (AAPS) is a politically conservative non-profit association founded in 1943 to "fight socialized medicine and to fight the government takeover of medicine."[3][4] The group was reported to have approximately 4,000 members in 2005, and 5,000 in 2014.[5][6][7] The executive director is Jane Orient, an internist and a member of the Oregon Institute of Science and Medicine.[1] The AAPS motto, "omnia pro aegroto" is Latin for "all for the patient."[8] AAPS also publishes the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons (formerly known as the Medical Sentinel).

The association is generally recognized as politically conservative or ultra-conservative, and its publication advocates a range of scientifically discredited hypotheses, including the belief that HIV does not cause AIDS, that being gay reduces life expectancy, that there is a link between abortion and breast cancer, and that there are links between autism and vaccinations.

Agreed. Clinton was the people's choice, Trump was the electoral college's choice. I wasn't disagreeing with you, I was correcting Airdvr's error.

No

Trump was the countries choice.

There is no other way to look at it.

Not sure where you got all of that info. I couldn't find it on their site.

Well, from a very brief search here you have the AAPS resolving that their should be zero governmental oversight of, or laws regarding the practice of medical care of any kind whatsoever, and here we have an analysis of repeated anti-vaccine junk science articles publsihed in the AAPS journal.

Hmmm.... Since this is a Cabinet post, does anyone besides me think that there may be trouble getting him confirmed?

Nancy Pelosi, just got elected as minority leader, and she belongs to a religion that says women's reproductive health care is a mortal sin. Keith Ellison just got re-elected to his house seat and is under consideration for the head of the DNC and his faith demands that gays be stoned to death. So I think this guy will be confirmed.

Interesting how you put religion and medical associations on the same playing field.

There indeed tends to be a belief that science is bogus in your circles.

So? Many people here who advocate for not killing cops belong to a religion that requires believers to kill gays.

My point is that one should not ascribe every position an organization has to an individual that may be associated with that organization. For example, I am on MoveOn.org's mailing list. While I might share common cause on some issues, I disagree with them on many more. Let's wait to hear from the good Dr.

Absolutely true. I am quite sure that Price doesn't agree with every position outlined by that organization. Though his paid membership which he chooses to maintain raises some question IMHO.

No, but when an individual has chosen to become a member of a fringe organisation that is founded on a radical set of core principals (let alone one that has advocated the rejection of extremely important public health strategies in favour of junk science) it would be foolish not to think that he probably agrees with those principles.

And how much do you pay MoveOn in membership fees to remain on their mailing list?

Yes, just belonging is not going to cause him any real problem. If he has beliefs that line up strongly with that group there will likely be a public record of him supporting those positions. It not like he has been hiding under a rug for decades and just popped up. I've never heard of him till now, but he has been a public figure and will have a public record to be scrutinized.

Why should one voluntary group association be different from any other?

I'd be surprised if anyone was raised from childhood as an AAPS follower.
