ISIS has claimed responsibility, but there is no evidence that the perp ever had any contact with ISIS.

Is this desperation on the part of ISIS? Losing on the battlefield so they are grasping at any straw they can to appear relevant.

Wrong.

It is the norm for dreadful regimes on the wane to engage in an orgy of violence. Often the carnage is overshadowed by other events, and does not get much coverage.

The Japanese withdrawal from the Philippines is an example.

Makes a change from UFO stories in the Daily Mail. Any confirmation from a real newspaper?

I must have missed any connection to ISIS in that story, or it wasn't there.

"However, the claim doesn't necessarily mean the sickening attack was organised by ISIS - it just confirms they approve of it.

Bouhlel was known to officers for common law crimes such as theft and violence but reportedly had no known connections with extremists.

There has been no indication that ISIS were aware of the attack before it happened."

LOL
Maybe you should read the article instead of the headline.

Wait until emotions lessen before proposing changes.

Given that 2000 people die in gun violence every month in the USA, I am not really sure where that 'break' is coming for the emotions to lessen....

It is ongoing and that is absolutely a shitty excuse for inaction.

Just like San Bernadino and Orlando.

The "Lone Wolf" terrorist, not connected with a larger group, no real indications before the high profile incident.

They seem to use the idea that they are connected to Daesh because they know perfectly well it will generate more publicity than if they were thought to simply be a single (or couple of) disturbed individual(s).

The couple in SB seemed to have actual ideological motivations. The guy in Orlando seemed to just be angry at the crowd that frequented the nightclub (he had a history there).

I see no real indication that the guy in Nice wanted anything more that to "go out in a blaze of glory." All indications are that his "devoutness" was seriously lacking.

Was referring to mass casualty events. At this point the bodies aren't even cold before people are screaming for more gun control and anyone who disagrees wants this to happen to others including their loved ones.

Nonsense!

The bodies from V. Tech, Newtown, San Bernadino, Orlando, Dallas, Charleston... and dozens of other places are plenty cold. Still the GOP gives lip service to action but otherwise toes the NRA line.

Oh, yeah, he is as committed to everyone getting along as is Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and David Duke.

Get a clue.

I don't know what is wrong with you this morning. But you can not possibly justify what you are implying with that. Because it is very clearly untrue. You don't really believe that BHO wants to racially divide the nation do you?

He may not want to, but he's stumbling his way through trying not to.

Like many old white men he has an issue with a person of colour holding a position higher then him.

Interesting guess.

I reserve the right to like or dislike someone, regardless of their race, gender, nationality, sexual preference or whatever.

If someone is gay and I think they are useless, that does not make me a "homophobe" (what a lousy use of language), if they are female and I think they are incompetent that does not make me a misogynist, if they are Norwegian and I can't stand them that does not make me anti-Scandinavian and so forth.

If someone does their job and does not make an issue of their sexuality, religion, race, gender or whatever, I prefer to focus on other factors.

If someone self-identifies with whatever group, and makes statements related to said self-identification, said affiliation is then fair game.

Obama likes to play the race card in such a way that he can take offense at anyone who calls him on playing the race card. I call bullshit.

In the same sense that finding a cure for a particular disease puts the charity related to that disease out of business (the March of Dimes narrowly dodged a bullet when Salk & Sabin resolved Polio), the people whose business is "racial equality" have to find racism under every rock or they are out of business.

Obama's pals Jackson and Sharpton depend on perceived racism for their quite comfortable living.

Rather than showing an identical level of concern for caucasians, orientals and negroes, there is a specified difference between the response to indignities visited upon the various groups, and that is racist. I do not distinguish between 'racism' and 'reverse racism' - it's all racism.

Obama has ridden racism like a surfer rides a wave, for his whole career. Good for him, he has become a pro at it.

Pointing out that the Emperors new clothes need ironing is not an unfair criticism.

BSBD,

Winsor

You are good with words, no doubt.

The fact you are responding to my accusation, yet leave this question unanswered tells me enough:

But you can not possibly justify what you are implying with that. Because it is very clearly untrue. You don't really believe that BHO wants to racially divide the nation do you?

You're "I have a black friend and I am just blaming him for his actions" speech rings rather hollow.

The byword of the administration, as voiced by Rahm Emanuel, is "You never let a serious crisis go to waste. And what I mean by that it's an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before."

In the same sense that on options trader doesn't care whether the market goes up or down, so long as there is movement, I have seen this administration capitalize upon quite a variety of disasters. I do not think that "BHO wants to racially divide the nation" any more than a surfer wants tsunamis, but I do think that harmony is as much a threat to BHO as glassy water is to a surfer. Without waves, either is out of business.

Cops need crime to justify their existence. Oncologists rely on an endless supply of cancer patients to pay for their educational debts. Warriors need wars. Agitators for racial equality require the perception of 'racism' to stay in business.

Nothing personal.

BTW, I avoid using the "some of my best friends are " argument, since it is largely irrelevant.

I try to put things into such context as to avoid falling into the same trap as did Margaret Mead, who dutifully recorded as fact everything the Samoans told her to test the limits of her gullibility.
