funjumper101 15 #1 October 29, 2016 The FBI will soon announce an investigation into the private email servers that are known to have been used by Colin Powell and Condi Rice. The investigation will focus on the issue of classified information being sent/received on these servers. The investigation will also look into the possibility that the servers were hacked. This is going to get VERY interesting. If Powell and Rice are found to have had classified material pass through the servers they operated, what will the FBI do? tkhayes 348 #4 October 30, 2016 Don't look now but they both admitted to using private emails for State purposes. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/09/colin-powell-defends-personal-email-227889 http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/rice-aides-powell-also-got-classified-info-personal-emails-n511181 references included. But of course you already knew that and decided to nitpick over the term 'private server' One would consider your fervor for the issue with more objectivity if your 'objectivity' were more evenly applied. tkhayes 348 #7 October 30, 2016 You/they may very well 'bring it', but I doubt that anyone is going after former secretaries of state for email use, given that the FBI has already pretty much ruled on it. It will not happen, any more than they are going after GWB for war crimes. arguably he is 'absolutely' guilty of that, given the evidence 'I' have seen and therefore judged for myself to be noteworthy. Prosecution is not, nor should it ever be a popularity contest. At least that is the case in the Constitution that I am familiar with. Maybe some people have a different version than I do. Constantly screaming for persecution does not make a case, it just makes rhetoric. The agencies that are involved with this investigation have already spoken and closed it. Whatever new stuff that might some out of emails on a laptop owned by an aide would have to be simply egregious to be significant, and given the tens of thousands of man hours spent and the millions of dollars, and the tens of thousands of emails that has been reviewed so far, to find that silver bullet is nothing short of a pipe dream. Not to mention that it will likely take many months to review that material, so I am not holding my breath that suddenly HRC will be escorted out of the Whitehouse in handcuffs, as so many foaming-at-the-mouth folks seem to desire. It has never happened, not even in the case of Nixon who absolutely broke the law, got reelected in the wake of damning evidence and managed 2 more years in office all the while deflecting the obvious crimes he had committed. HRC's misgivings, if any, are so minor that it will never be prosecuted for reasons already stated by several agencies. If only some people could put the kind of energy into feeding children, or solving homeless vet issues instead of clamoring for things that will never happen. What a great place the world might be. If only they even cared about those issues. Nope, it's a 'We gotta get Hillary' mentality. As with all craziness, they are really only a small minority.
