ryoder 1,590 #53 November 29, 2016 billvon As an indication of how gullible people are in the US, Trump has managed to convince people that he is not an elite. Well, he certainly convinced me that he is not elite mentally!"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. TriGirl 318 #54 November 30, 2016 airdvrSo by "qualified" you mean anyone of the DC elite? The US I see today is a direct reflection of 30 years of being sold out by those same folks. I'll pass on them, TYVM. By "qualified," I mean someone who has worked in government at the federal level. Someone who has had to work to get a bill passed, who has at least had a conversation about foreign policy with a foreign representative and understands that no issue is binary nor simple. Someone perhaps who has served in the foreign service, or CIA, or DEA, or USAID, or high levels of the military (understands international relations and foreign policy consequences). (Did you check out Evan McMullin, as I suggested?) At the same time, I wouldn't expect Sen. McCain or Ms. Pelosi to take over a Fortune 500 company or negotiate a business merger. And on the subject of "elites," is it just professional political operatives you reject, or do you hold the same opinion of the Wall Street "elites" being nominated for professional government/policy jobs? (I'm really asking your opinion).See the upside, and always wear your parachute! -- Christopher Titus Shut Up & Jump!

Yes. Eight years in state senate and four years in the US senate is a pretty good preparation to be president. Bankrupting casinos and groping women - not so much. gowlerk 2,190 #57 December 1, 2016 Trumps latest tweets from last night have him saying for the first time that he intends to treat being POTUS as a full time job. Maybe he is beginning to see just what lies ahead for him. I'm not sure if this is good news or bad. But I'm leaning toward good.Always remember the brave children who died defending your right to bear arms. Freedom is not free.
