quade 4 #1 February 10, 2017 QuoteGerman Comedian Is Told Not to Repeat Lewd Lines About Erdogan BERLIN — Jan Böhmermann, a German television comedian whose lewd poem satirizing Turkey’s president stirred tensions between the countries and a furor over freedom of expression, is back on the air and will not face criminal charges. But he is still forbidden from publicly repeating most of the poem, which made provocative — and, his critics say, outrageous — insinuations about the sexuality, behavior and intelligence of Turkey’s president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan. On Friday, a civil court in Hamburg, upholding a ruling from May, barred Mr. Böhmermann from repeating 18 of the 24 lines from the poem. His solicitude stinks badly for Doner, Even a pig fur smells nicer. He is the man who beats girls Wearing rubber masks. He likes to fuck goats and suppress minorities, ... 1 Kurds, Christian Christians And look at childpornos. And even in the evenings, instead of sleeping, Fellatio with a hundred sheep. Yes, Erdogan is fully, A president with a small tail. ... 1 Every Turk heard flutes, The stupid sow has shrink kills. From Ankara to Istanbul Everyone knows this man is gay, Pervers, lousy and zoophil - Recep Fritzl Priklopil. His head as empty as his eggs, The star on every gangbang celebration. Until the cock burns while peeing, That is Recep Erdogan, the Turkish president. 1 The exclamation marks indicate interruptions in the poem's speech in the program of 31 March 2016. I wonder when this sort of censorship will hit the US?quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
nolhtairt 0 #2 February 11, 2017 I think it's hilarious that our POTUS gets all kinds of insults thrown at him, Barack Obama did as well, from all over the world, and not much of a stink is raised by us. But, insult a Muslim leader, and all the towelheads go apeshit. So much for tolerance.

normiss 806 #4 February 11, 2017 It was an open opportunity to sling an insult to particular sect of humans, in this day and age we are supposed to insult each other. I don't understand why, but it's everywhere now. The 'point' of discussions no longer apply.
EnricoPalazzo 1 #5 February 13, 2017 While I absolutely agree on objection to any censorship and don't particularly like Erdogan, this case is a little different. Böhmermann's "poem" contained very little satire and a lot of plain personal insult that is not covered by freedom of speech, but by laws against slander and defamation. Only the parts that contained defamation and slander and were not deemed art were forbidden by the judge. This was not in regards to Erdogan being a head of state, every other common person could (and probably would) have sued Böhmerman for this. A head of state might just have been above all of this, but this is where narcism comes into play: Erdogan could not tolerate one German satirist badmouth him, when doing nothing at all would probably have been the better option for keeping things down. Trump vs. the SNL skits (which for me clearly qualify as satire) is a different issue altogether.
