He never said any of that, nor does that follow from what he said above.

It would be consistent with "not nearly as great as you think"

BTW I do think that America has had its issues with misogyny, xenophobia, racism, homophobia, and backward thinking. For the most part they have been rectified. Western culture (White, Democratic, Christian, Capitalist) isn't perfect it is just the best. The rest of the world, voting with their feet, agree with me.

I don't take issue that American culture is great and people want to live here. I take issue with your idea that what makes American culture great is that it is "White" and "Christian". I'll give you "Democratic" and "Capitalist" although they are more to do with our system of laws than our culture.

Do you really not understand that our political and economic systems are a reflection of our culture? Our constitution has been copied by many other nations, none of them have been able to reproduce our success. Why? Because their cultures were incompatible.

Whites make up 62% of Americans. Doesn't mean we have a "white culture." Whites are just one part of what makes up America.

Women make up 51% of Americans. Doesn't mean we have a "female culture." Women are just one part of what makes up America.

Why not stop defining our culture in terms of skin color (or ancestry, or religion) and start defining it in terms of what it is and what it does? Because it sounds a lot like you are defending white nationalism, and that might not be what you intended.

True Dan but you can't ignore that those values originated from white christians who escaped persecution. They tried their damnedest to seperate church and state. Works most of the time. We still have that saying on the almighty dollar...it doesn't say we trust Allah.

And from blacks who escaped slavery. Which is why the concept of slavery is now so odious to us - because, in part, we have people whose ancestors were slaves.

That should take care of all the savings of deregulation and throwing the EPA in the trash bin.
