billvon 2,991 #701 June 19, 2017 >Different lawyer, but I am sure this one will need a lawyer soon too. You are correct; my bad. The lawyer referenced in my post above is Jay Sekulow. His other lawyer - Michael Cohen - hired Stephen Ryan to represent him in issues involving potential collusion with Russia. It's getting hard to keep all the lawyers representing the Trump Administration straight.
billvon 2,991 #702 June 20, 2017 So Trump's pick to replace Comey is likely going to be Christopher Wray. Well, at least he'll be free from suspicion of secret Russian connections, unlike much of the rest of the Trump administration. Right? ====================================== Trump FBI Pick Chris Wray Worked on Russia Case but Deleted it From His Company Bio By Greg Price On 6/20/17 at 10:57 AM Newsweek President Donald Trump’s FBI director pick, attorney Chris Wray, reportedly represented an American energy executive who was facing a criminal investigation by Russia in 2006. However, as Trump deals with multiple investigations amid speculation about his campaign’s ties to Russia, one wouldn’t know that particular detail of Wray’s career history. Why? Wray himself deleted the reference this year, well before he was up for one of the country’s top law enforcement jobs, CNN reported Tuesday. As early as 2009, Wray’s profile for law firm King and Spalding described his clients and included the line: “An energy company president in a criminal investigation by Russian authorities.” ========================================

SkyDekker 1,465 #719 June 23, 2017 This is what I don't understand about his supporters though. People like Ron, who have long told stories about how communists and Russia are their arch enemies. They now support somebody who willfully and specifically refuses to investigate Russian cyber attacks, Russian ability to influence democracy etc. Their country, their way of life, their priced democracy was (and continues to be) under direct attack by Russia and their response: Meh...fake news....or some variant of that. billvon 2,991 #722 June 23, 2017 Trump last week: ========== Interviewer: "You suggested he didn’t tell the truth in everything he said. He did say, under oath, that you told him… you said you hoped the Flynn investigation .. . . ” Trump 1: “I didn’t say that . . . .there’d be nothing wrong if I did say it, according to everybody I read today, but I did not say that.” ========== So Trump claim Comey lied. But then, during an interview, he claimed that his brilliant trick of making up a story about tapes kept Comey honest. ============== Trump 2:"When [Comey] found out that there may be tapes out there - whether it’s governmental tapes or anything else, and who knows - think his story may have changed. You’ll have to take a look at that because then he has to tell what actually took place at the events. And my story didn’t change - my story was always a straight story, my story always was the truth . . ..He did admit that what I said was right.” =============== So who to believe? Trump 1, Trump 2 or Comey? Let's ask the American people . . . ========== Poll: More Americans Believe Comey Over Trump by Mark Murray CNBC By a 2-to-1 margin, Americans say they are more likely to believe former FBI Director James Comey than President Donald Trump when it comes to their differing accounts of events that led up to Comey's firing, according to the latest NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll. Forty-five percent of respondents say they are more likely to believe Comey's version of events from his June 8 testimony to the U.S. Senate, versus 22 percent who are more likely to believe what Trump has said. An additional 21 percent say they believe neither of them, and 8 percent say they believe both of them. By party, 76 percent of Democrats side with Comey, while 50 percent of Republicans believe Trump. Independents break for Comey over Trump, 47 percent to 17 percent. =========

billvon 2,991 #724 June 26, 2017 So quick review: Trump has been claiming for a long time that there was no Russian interference in the election. Now he's switched gears and started saying yes, there was interference - and it's Obama's fault. He was the one colluding. Why this change in direction? Is he getting wind of something? Even more interesting is what Trump supporters are saying. What's the new spin? That there was no collusion - and even if there was, there's nothing wrong with Trump's campaign colluding with the Russians. They may have heard something as well. Brit Hume: "Collusion, while it would be obviously alarming and highly inappropriate for the Trump campaign, of which there is no evidence by the way, of colluding with the Russians. It's not a crime." Sean Hannity: "What was the collusion? That maybe somebody in the Trump campaign talked to somebody in Russia … Is that a crime?" Gregg Jarrett: "I've said it before and I'll say it again: collusion is not a crime. ... You can collude all you want with a foreign government in an election."
