billvon 2,991 #752 July 10, 2017 >Now at least, the lies are starting to have consequences. They are indeed. ================= Support For Donald Trump's Impeachment Is Now Higher Than His Approval Rating By Chris Riotta 6/5/17 Newsweek Virtually every single poll tracking President Donald Trump's approval rating showed the figure plummeting, well below the margin of error compared to the rising level of support for impeachment. The results follow Trump's controversial decision to withdraw the United States from the Paris climate accord; the ongoing investigation into his campaign’s possible ties to the Kremlin is also a factor. The president's approval rating dipped from nearly 42 percent to just 36 percent over the weekend, according to a Gallup daily tracking poll published Monday. Trump's declining popularity is inching closer toward his all-time low of 35 percent as president in March, when Gallup had the president’s approval at just 35 percent. What's more, nearly 43 percent of American voters support the idea of beginning the official impeachment process for Trump, according to a Politico/Morning Consult poll published Wednesday. There are slight discrepancies between several leading polls as to where the president’s approval officially stands, though each tracking poll published Monday and over the weekend seemed to show a decline in popularity following Trump's decision on the Paris Agreement. Even right-leaning poll sites like Rasmussen Reports are indicating dips in support for the president's job performance, reporting that as of Monday, 54 percent of the nation disapproves of Trump’s tenure as commander in chief. =================

billvon 2,991 #755 July 10, 2017 >>>Now at least, the lies are starting to have consequences. >>They are indeed. >LMFAO! Glad you are laughing! Now that Trump Jr has admitted that he and the campaign manager met with Russians promising dirt on the Clinton campaign, let's review what Trump and his administration have claimed about that: =============== Trump Jr in March: "Did I meet with people that were Russian? I’m sure, I’m sure I did. But none that were set up. None that I can think of at the moment. And certainly none that I was representing the campaign in any way, shape or form." ============== Question: did any Trump associates contact Russians? Trump in Jan: "No." =============== Hope Hicks in Nov: "It never happened. There was no communication between the campaign and any foreign entity during the campaign." ================= Interviewer: "Did anyone involved in the Trump campaign have any contact with Russians trying to meddle with the election?" Kellyanne Conway in Dec: "Absolutely not. And I discussed that with the president-elect just last night. Those conversations never happened. I hear people saying it like it's a fact on television. That is just not only inaccurate and false, but it's dangerous and it does undermine our democracy." =============== Interviewer: "I’m asking a direct question: Was there any contact in any way between Trump or his associates and the Kremlin or cutouts they had?" Mike Pence in Jan: ". . . of course not. Why would there be any contacts between the campaign? Chris, the — this is all a distraction, and it's all part of a narrative to delegitimize the election and to question the legitimacy of this presidency. The American people see right through it." Mike Pence the next day: "Of course not. And I think to suggest that is to give credence to some of these bizarre rumors that have swirled around the candidacy." =============== Question: "Back in January, the president said that nobody in his campaign had been in touch with the Russians. Now today, can you still say definitively that nobody on the Trump campaign — not even General Flynn — had any contact with the Russians before the election?" Spicer in Feb: ". . . .I don't have any — I — there's nothing that would conclude me that anything different has changed with respect to that time period." =============== I especially like the outrage and indignity. "These are unfounded bizarre rumors that seek to DE-LEGITIMIZE THE ELECTION! And it UNDERMINES OUR DEMOCRACY! And it is INACCURATE AND FALSE! Americans SEE RIGHT THROUGH the lies! Well . . . . OK, so it's true. But that doesn't change anything!" Like you said, lies have consequences. Looks like Trump et al will have to live with those consequences while you laugh, spin and squirm. He doesn't believe the NSA, CIA or FBI. He ignores the opinions of the top US scientists in their fields. He ignores the military when it comes to military strategy and preparing for future battles. billvon 2,991 #763 July 11, 2017 And in what has become a tradition in the Trump administration, now Trump Jr. is lawyering up. The question this brings up - will Trump Jr's lawyer need a lawyer, too? Trump should just make this a condition of employment at the White House. "Look, if you work with me, eventually you're gonna need a lawyer anyway. Cause believe me, if it's me or you, you're going under the bus."

billvon 2,991 #766 July 11, 2017 Well, it didn't take long for the next revelation. From the NYT: "Before arranging a meeting with a Kremlin-connected Russian lawyer he believed would offer him compromising information about Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Jr. was informed in an email that the material was part of a Russian government effort to aid his father's candidacy, according to three people with knowledge of the email." We'll see how Trump Jr.'s story changes today. I think it's actually more likely that his lawyer will speak for him from here on out and say "no comment" over and over. SkyDekker 1,465 #767 July 11, 2017 I believe the NYT has done this a couple of times now. Publish a story; wait for the lies to start; publish the rest. The irony of an email trail is somewhat beautiful.
wolfriverjoe 1,523 #768 July 11, 2017 SkyDekkerI believe the NYT has done this a couple of times now. Publish a story; wait for the lies to start; publish the rest. The irony of an email trail is somewhat beautiful. It's a classic interrogation technique. Give the subject enough info hang themselves with their own lies. Not that Trump and his minions need to be played to get them to lie... About anything. However, I wonder if it's intentional. After all, they are using (mainly) anonymous sources within the administration. The initial story may be running with all (or at least most) of the info they have at the time. After it 'hits the streets', other sources may surface with more info."There are NO situations which do not call for a French Maid outfit." You see it as different? Why don't you first explain why you think the Fox link you posted appears to change things. Looks like it corroborates the NYT story. Then maybe you can explain how you feel that Trump Jr. lied about this meeting a number of times. You have indicated in the past that you supposedly have a big problem with lying. Then maybe you can explain what you think my narrative related to the Steele Dossier is. Let's change things up a little bit. Let's say your wife accuses you of meeting with a woman. First you completely deny it, you never met with a woman without her. Then she finds out that you were seen entering a hotel with a woman. You now change your story and indicate that yes you did meet with her, but it was really to talk about this wonderful idea she had for a present for your wife. Then your wife finds an email from this woman offering you a blowjob when you meet her. Do you think she will be satisfied with you standing there saying: but she never sucked my dick, so everything is fine right....honey? honey?
