That's not how evolution works. Evolution works by killing off everyone who isn't adapted for the new condition. Then the remaining population - who are slightly better at living with the new condition - reproduce. And thus the trend is towards a fitter organism.

There's no "learning to live a new way" in evolution.

Ummm...

No. For humans, and all other mammals, reptiles and fish on this earth, CO2 is a waste product. We breath in Oxygen (air) and exhale CO2.

We don't "utilize" it in our bodies. We dispose of it. We have to or we die.

Anything above about 1% concentration in the atmosphere is toxic.
