It kicks in at about $100k after deductions are added back in for the calculation. The algorithm may need adjusting to account for inflation, but if it were eliminated altogether, people like Trump would pay almost nothing. Over $30M of Trump's taxes were AMT and STILL he paid at a lower rate than your typical family doctor or dentist.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
