Possibly. Hard to square that with the song being sung by the MSM days prior to the election.

I'd wager there are Dems all over this country secretly regretting having skipped voting. Bet it doesn't happen again.

OK quickdraw. My theory is alot of Democrats stayed home on election day because they believed what the MSM was telling them. Had they not gotten lazy I'm pretty certain Hillary would be POTUS today.

My belief is you are partly right. The second factor was Comey's stunt. And thirdly the Trump/Putin/Wikileaks conspiracy. But I think the first two were the main things.

Another explanation (or contributing factor) to the report of "low voter turnout" claims is that in fact, those voters registered in two districts actually only voted in one district, or the voters who died never had votes cast in their names.*

Example 1: Ivanka Trump was reported to be registered to vote in two states. She cast one legal vote in one of those states, while the other state reported that she did not vote at all.

Example 2: Prince Rogers Nelson was registered to vote in Minnesota. He unfortunately passed away before the election, and no vote was cast under his name.

I think if all the voter registrars do their thorough audits as they pledged to do after the November election, and the duplicate registrations and deceased citizens are removed from the rolls, we're going to see a noticeable rise in the percentage of registered voters contributing to the process. Not to mention, we can stop all those accusations of people voting illegally because of these duplicates and deceased persons on the rolls.

*I'm not saying it's going to go to 100% participation, but if the claims of duplicate registrations and deceased person registrations are so prevalent, then the percentage at the very least should rise once the rolls are cleaned up

******I wonder how many Democrats are regretting not voting.

Your comeback is that both democrats and republicans regret that Trump is president?

Think it through dude, think it through;)

It seems at lot of working class Dems switched parties.

The Freedom Caucus is feeling some #tregret today. From Trump:

"Finishing the new sewage system is critical for Tracy as it's competing for a new shrimp-production facility that could bring hundreds of jobs to the town. Fifty-eight percent of Tracy voters choose Trump in last fall's election."

Eh, let Mexico have those jobs. Shrimp doesn't "make America great again." Importing shrimp for Trump properties does.

Hey, times are tough, and Mexico won't need to worry about sanitation or drinking water protection or all those other forms of liberal waste. That way the shrimp at Costco stays cheap.

Editorial in NY Times about Trump voters who are sticking even though they're not being helped.

Overall, it makes them sound like they understand what's happening, would prefer it were different, but still overall think he's better than the alternative. Kind of like how Hillary voters would have been had she won.

By and large people on both sides are forgetting that the people who think differently from them have what they consider to be valid reasons for thinking as they do. I might (and often do) disagree, but I really try not to bash too much. What's the point?

Turns out Trump supporters on Reddit are reconsidering as well:
=======================
Reddit’s ‘The Donald’ breaks with Trump over his support for killing internet privacy rules
Andrew Couts Mar 29 at 8:47AM
DailyDot

President Donald Trump is sitting on a political landmine, and it’s already turning off die-hard supporters.

Members of Reddit‘s r/The_Donald—a community known for its exaggerated support for all things Trump—is tearing at the seams over the president’s support for legislation that kills Federal Communications Commission privacy rules that would have prevented internet providers from selling a vast array of personal information.

House Republicans passed the measure on Tuesday after the Senate’s passage of the resolution last week. The measure now heads to Trump’s desk for his signature, and he is expected to sign it.

The House’s passage of the resolution, known as S.J. Res. 34, sparked backlash among some Trump supporters on r/The_Donald, where taking positions that contradict the Trump administration is extraordinarily rare.

In a top post published on Wednesday, one of r/The_Donald’s moderators, shadowman3001, aimed to bring order to the debate, stating clearly the arguments for and against the legislation, as well as his own take.

Prefacing the argument by saying, “I would have no issue with a bill to prevent all companies, ISP and websites, from collecting your data,” shadowman3001 says killing the FCC rules for internet providers is only fair considering that web companies like Google, Facebook, and countless other sites and apps are allowed to collect user data. “In my humble opinion, the government shouldn’t allow some companies access to your data, while restricting other companies access to that same data,” he wrote.

Responses to shadowman3001’s post run the full spectrum, but the most popular comments echo the moderator. “I am against anything and anyone that can track and sell my internet browser history,” reads one popular comment. Another commenter adds, “It makes me uncomfortable.”

But he has their support; he's sure of it:

Boos erupt after Trump tells room full of construction workers that he won most of their votes

04 Apr 2017 at 13:24 ET
RawStory

President Donald Trump on Tuesday talked with a room full of construction union members, and things got a little awkward for him when he started boasting about his big election victory.

Although much of Trump’s speech before the North America’s Building Trades Unions was well received, the president raised some hackles when he said that he and his campaign had “tremendous support” from “almost everybody in this room.”

According to Huffington Post reporter Igor Bobic, the commotion began when one audience member stood up and shouted “Nope, nope!” when Trump bragged about winning over their support.

From Igor Bobic‏:

Trump says he had the support of “almost everybody in this room." "Nope, nope!” one man in audience says, followed by laughter, boos.

I think people have overestimated the power of ridicule.

I thought labeling all Trump supporters as misogynistic racist xenophobes would've been an effective "tactic." Clearly I was wrong.

It seems the left is gonna have to learn how to actually engage in conversation if they are to expect any type of change.

Actually, society has had a shit ton of change toward the left. Probably just a little too much and too fast for some people though. The whole bathroom rights debate is an example of this. It's really just a trivial matter, but has become a road just a little too far. Especially after SCOTUS ruled in favour of marriage equality. Part of the rightward swing in the election is a reaction to things happening too quickly for many.

"Some" people is not "many"

I doubt most people on the right really care when it comes down to it. I think they cared more about how the left just had their way with them, shit all over their religion, falsely stereotyped them and then laughed in their face.

Proverbs 24:17-27
"Don't laugh when your enemy falls; don't crow over his collapse. God might see, and become very provoked, and then take pity on his plight."

(good advice also for the right to follow in the midst of their "victory" - be thankful God used the left as a modern day example.:P )

Anyway, when I talk to those on the right, their #1 complaint was how their health insurance for the same plan they had for years now costs more for less. One retiree said, hell I don't care if I pay more for insurance, but it's not as good and my 27 year old son is back in school and working part time as a mechanic, but was denied medicaid even though he should qualify now, so what the hell am I paying for?

The system isn't working as promised. If there was anything that happen too fast for people to process, it was AHC. But I also understand that something had to be done. Hopefully they get it fixed sooner rather than later - probably not gonna happen under Trump though, apparently.

I think they will learn the lesson of this election - that a constant stream of attacks, ridicule, bigotry and obstinate are far more effective than conversation. The fault of the left (and the reason they lost the election) was not that they didn't engage in conversation; it's that they didn't follow Trump's lead and refer to republicans as rapists, criminals, liars and bigots at every opportunity.

It is an unfortunate lesson to learn, and will make us all poorer in the long run.

Trump simply beat the attackers at their own game, and the right loved him for it.

The left should've known who they were up against.

Hang on a second. Didn't Hillary refer to Republicans as...umm...it was something. Oh yeah..

"You know, to just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump's supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables. Right?" Clinton said. "The racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamaphobic—you name it. And unfortunately there are people like that. And he has lifted them up. He has given voice to their websites that used to only have 11,000 people -- now how 11 million. He tweets and retweets their offensive hateful mean-spirited rhetoric. Now, some of those folks -- they are irredeemable,"

So umm yeah...that worked.

Islamaphobic

As an aside, it's interesting that they have such a hard time calling it Islamic extremism.

There was the "Kony 2012" movement to bring the christian leader of the LRA to justice. Many supporters of the movement were Christian. We had no problem calling him out for what he was. A Christian Terroirst piece of shit.

"Islamic Terrorist piece of shit."

What's so hard about that? Hell, even ISIS admits they're Islamic. . .
