billvon 2,991 #1 May 24, 2017 The latest Russian connection comes from Trump's attorney general, Jeff Sessions. Turns out he also lied about his Russian connections when he applied for a US security clearance. Why do Trump appointees so regularly lie about Russia? What are they hiding? ======================================== AG Sessions did not disclose Russia meetings in security clearance form, DOJ says By Manu Raju and Evan Perez, CNN Washington (CNN) Attorney General Jeff Sessions did not disclose meetings he had last year with Russian officials when he applied for his security clearance, the Justice Department told CNN Wednesday. Sessions, who met with Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak at least two times last year, didn't note those interactions on the form, which requires him to list "any contact" he or his family had with a "foreign government" or its "representatives" over the past seven years, officials said. The new information from the Justice Department is the latest example of Sessions failing to disclose contacts he had with Russian officials. He has come under withering criticism from Democrats following revelations that he did not disclose the same contacts with Kislyak during his Senate confirmation hearings earlier this year. =========================================
rushmc 23 #3 May 25, 2017 IagoThe Clinton News Network article I read said that Sessions was specifically told BY THE FBI that he did not have to list those contacts on his clearance form. So it appears he did not hide anything as the FBI knew about the meetings. Quote Sessions initially listed a year's worth of meetings with foreign officials on the security clearance form, according to Justice Department spokeswoman Sarah Isgur Flores. But she says he and his staff were then told by an FBI employee who assisted in filling out the form, known as the SF-86, that he didn't need to list dozens of meetings with foreign ambassadors that happened in his capacity as a senator. After CNN's story published, a spokesman responded to the reporting with a statement, saying that Sessions was instructed not to list meetings like the ones with Kislyak on his form. http://www.cnn.com/2017/05/24/politics/jeff-sessions-russian-officials-meetings/ Yes Bill!!!!! billvon 2,991 #4 June 15, 2017 >What are they hiding? His meetings with Russians and their lobbyists. From the Guardian: ================================== Lobbyist for Russian interests says he attended dinners hosted by Sessions Richard Burt contradicts Jeff Sessions’ testimony that he didn’t believe he had contacts with lobbyists working for Russian interests during Trump’s campaign Stephanie Kirchgaessner Thursday 15 June 2017 11.32 EDT An American lobbyist for Russian interests who helped craft an important foreign policy speech for Donald Trump has confirmed that he attended two dinners hosted by Jeff Sessions during the 2016 campaign, apparently contradicting the attorney general’s sworn testimony given this week. Sessions testified under oath on Tuesday that he did not believe he had any contacts with lobbyists working for Russian interests over the course of Trump’s campaign. But Richard Burt, a former ambassador to Germany during the Reagan administration, who has represented Russian interests in Washington, told the Guardian that he could confirm previous media reports that stated he had contacts with Sessions at the time. “I did attend two dinners with groups of former Republican foreign policy officials and Senator Sessions,” Burt said. Several media reports published before Trump’s election in November noted that Burt advised then candidate Trump on his first major foreign policy speech, a role that brought him into contact with Sessions personally. =====================================
