Discussion over - The End!!

I guess it'll have to be. Personally I'd be pretty embarrassed if I claimed that any politician was the only guy trying to achieve something, but that I had no idea what it was they were trying to achieve because they never told anyone.

You don't think that's embarrassing?

Believing in Trump is a lot like believing in God. There's no good reason for it. It's a matter of "faith".

What's that supposed to mean?

YOU are the one who claimed he "has a plan".

He had a "secret plan" to defeat ISIS in 30 days. What happened to that?

You are also the one who claimed that the juvenile, idiotic insults are "playing hardball."

His minions can't even answer hard questions. They've even reached the point where they don't want to be recorded because they contradict themselves every day.

Every criticism is "fake news".

Yet when called on it, you say "End of discussion."

Really?

Again my apology for messing this thread about a shooting accident up. Didn't figure it would take off so much.

As far as me being a trumpeteer I don't believe I am but just try to look at some of the hype from different angles.

I will admit Trump says some crazy stuff and is very aggressive but the guy is who he is and come election people will decide if they want more of his style management or not.

I don't think I can be classified as a Trump devotee just because I don't slam him with glee as many enjoy doing.

Can't we all just get along - maybe we all should pick a tunnel and all go fly and agree not to talk politics.

No, it's more because you parrot his claim that he had a secret military plan, when he's implemented nothing of the sort since coming to office. It's because you say he's the one guy from either party trying to accomplish something when you don't even know what he's trying to accomplish - you just assume he must be doing something. It's because you think it's totally fine for him not to say anything of substance to the media, then criticise the media for reporting on the dumb, petty, abusive shit that he does say.

If I was going to call you a Trump devotee, that'd be why.

Though no opposition showed up for this motley mix of Sons of the Confederacy, KKK and Donald Trump supporters, someone still managed to get shot…

Skydeker said - "Great. What official presidential plan could be behind disparaging remarks about female journalists?"

Oh - So now females are exempt from playing hardball - so much for gender equality.

What is disparaging about mention of a facelift, some post operative bleeding and saying the word "NO" to express empathy - lacking full context of their conversation challenges anyone's accurate interpretation of what really went on when these two who hounded him for an interview got the interview - than went on to trash him - nice way to say Thank You to him.

News media claims Trumps remarks were sexist but I can't see it in the tweets - he criticized both a female and male then she comes back with a remark about hands sized for cheerios which most understand comes with an obvious very personal connotation to a male. Seems that the woman's response was the vulgar sexist one - just sayin'.

I asked what his plan was. You said he has a plan.

So what is the plan behind that tweet? Other than showing the world your country is being led by some man-child?

This is what the best country in the world, with the best democracy and the best political system has to offer as a leader?

This blind following of: "I don't understand anything but he must have a plan cause he has lost of money" is beyond stupid.

The small hands thing is from almost 30 years ago when the editor of Vanity Fair or Spy called him a short fingered vulgarian. It has since been echoed by many people when the conversation devolves to playground insults.

That, my friend is the crux of it, the President of the United States should not be involved in playground insults. Many Presidents and their wives have had worse thrown at them and they did not belittle the office of the President by lowering their standards.

It comes down to perception, doesn't it?

Trump (and his supporters) see lashing back as being strong and in charge - a form of leadership that recent presidents have lacked. Others see it as juvenile.

IMO the president absolutely should not have to be a free punching bag for anyone who wants to take a jibe. I'm happy with a bit of fire in a president rather than simply turning the other cheek constantly. As usual however, Trump takes it far too far for me. He crosses the line over firm retort and goes straight to 12 year old belittling.

The problem is Trump himself.

His entire behavior set is juvenile. Not just the responses to unfair criticism (and there is some of that), but in everything.

From his behavior towards women, his disdain of any negative press as "fake news", his complete lack of understanding of foreign affairs to his insistence on being the 'best' at everything (the fake Time cover is a good example) to his lack of concern or respect for anyone else (the 'golf cart across the green' incident is a good example).

He is, for all intents and purposes, the equivalent of a 5 year old. His life of privilege has constantly taught him that he is the best, he deserves anything he wants and he can do anything he wants.

He won't keep promises, he won't consider the effect of his decisions on anyone but himself, he simply doesn't think about it.

He will say and do anything he thinks will get him what he wants.

None of these are good qualities for a president.
He is totally unfit for the job.

Hi Joe,

He is totally unfit for the job.

^^^^^ This

I am convinced that he will go down as the worst person ever to occupy the office.

But some will still support him; even as he takes away things that are important & necessary to them.

The guy is a total waste.

Jerry Baumchen

PS) For me, he is such a rotten SOB that I would support any effort to remove him from the history of the office. Never have his picture up with other POTUS's & remove all mention of him.

And the shit of it is that this is why he attacked the two hosts:

"Let’s say someone came into NBC and took over NBC and started tweeting wildly about people’s appearances, bullying people, talking about people in the competition, lying every day, undermining his managers, throwing them under the — that person would be thrown out. It’s just not normal behavior," she said. "In fact, there would be concern that perhaps the person who runs the company is out of his mind."

His life of privilege has constantly taught him that he is the best, he deserves anything he wants and he can do anything he wants.

This is the root of it. He has never been told "no" and failure has never had any consequence. Don't forget this is a guy who couldn't make money running a casino, and still thinks he is a good businessman.

The fact that he has always been insulated in his financial ivory tower before explains a lot about his response to any negative press.

In that particular moment...

I think that's the bit that worries me the most. If whipping his dick out on stage would get him instantaneous massive applause he'd do it and then deal with the consequences later.

I agree mostly, but I don't think he understands the concept of "consequences"
